Hi everyone!!

I’m Ell and this is my first ever post on a beyondblue forum =). I'm a 24 year old female and love the beach, holidays, basketball and just spending time with my partner, friends and family.

I'm similar to LavenderTea who you might have seen around the forums over the last little while. I'm also studying a masters of psychology, only mine will take a little longer and as I'll be specialising in developmental and educational psychology!! I'm also about to start my phD, so looks like I'm going to be one of those people at uni foreverrrrrr!! (not really I hope).

I'm super excited to get out there eventually and start helping people! For now though, I'm just really keen to have a play on these threads and see if I can offer any advice to anyone that might need a little extra help =). I'll be around on Wednesday mornings.

Hopefully I get to know you all soon,

E x

Hi Ell43 and welcome to Beyond Blue forums

It's great to have you on board. Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Just a thought, I like to stay positive on the forums, though I'm not sure if I (or others) see the forums as a play ground. Some (most) posts are about very difficult, testing and heavy times people are having. I realise it's difficult finding a balance with language, though 'play' on the forum is probably not something I feel comfortable with.

Look forward to seeing/hearing more from you Ell.

Kind regards

Hey Ell43,

Welcome to the forums.

Good luck with the psychology degree. Looks like your doing some really great work in your studies. I have been at university since I left school in 2011 so I know how it feels lol. I am finishing soon so like you I can "sort of" see the light at the end of the tunnel 😄

Look forward to reading your future posts and all the best with your studies. Good to have contributors with sound theoretical knowledge on the forums also.

All the best.

Baet

Hi Ell,

Here’s another warm welcome 🙂

I think it’s a fantastic idea to have Mentors on board!

Speaking of which, yes, I’ve seen LavenderTea around the forums. S/he seems to be doing a great job 🙂

All the best with your studies plus helping out on the forums. I’m sure you’ll be incredible at both. I really like the warm and approachable tone in your writing by the way.

Kind and caring thoughts,

Pepper

Hi guys!!
Thanks so much for all responding to my first post!! It is a little daunting making your first one, so I appreciate it a lot that you all took the time to welcome me 😃

PamelaR you are totally right. Play wasn't the right word, I apologise. I appreciate very much that all the posts on these forums are very serious and not here to be played with. I simply meant that I was looking forward to working on the forums, trying to help others, as apposed to looking for help for problems I am facing. I'm sorry for the confusion. You are right, a balance in language can be tricky, particularly with so many amazingly diverse people using this space. Thanks for helping me clear that up!

Haha Baet123 yay, so glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!! It makes it much easier to keep going and get those assignments finished!

Also, thank you so much for the kind words Pepper!!! I honestly really appreciate it. I love the idea of having mentors on here too. So many of us are being trained in amazing psychological practices, and this is a great way for us to share some of the knowledge we have acquired with people who might really benefit! I'll make sure I let LavenderTea know you have found her contributions valuable xx

Hi Ell (waves to all),

It’s great to hear from you again. That’s very nice of you to say and you’re most welcome 🙂

I agree that this is definitely a fantastic way for you to share some of what you have learnt.

Thanks for letting LavenderTea know as well 🙂

Maybe I’ll bump into you on threads. Looking forward to reading your posts too!

Pepper xoxo
