Hi all, just joined. My name is Robert, I have anxiety/stress issues. I work a lot at controlling this problem, I exercise a lot, meditate (mindfulness) Try and eat right and so on. Kind regards Robert

Hello Robert, I get a lot of pleasure in welcoming new members to this caring and compassionate place called the BB Forums - so welcome.

I understand what you are going through with your anxiety and stress issues. I have PTSD, which is an anxiety disorder. And I am also going through a lot of personal stress at present. So I know !!!!!!!

Do you know what the triggers are to your anxiety and stress? Have you been formally diagnosed by a health professional, and have you had any psychological assistance? Sorry ... lots of questions, but your intro was quiet brief.

I guess what I would really like to know is - what do you hope to achieve from joining the Forums, and is there anything specific we can help you with? People join the Forums for a variety of reasons - information, advice, support, an understanding ear, a chance to talk to like minded people, a desire to help others, etc.

Good on you for doing things that go a long way towards managing anxiety and stress in our everyday lives, namely a healthy diet, regular exercise and relaxation.

I look forward to hearing back from you with some more information. That will enable others to respond to you as well. You will find the people here are very helpful and supportive.

Meanwhile have a look through the Forums under the Anxiety section and have a read of some of the threads there. I would encourage you to reply to any existing threads that you have an interest in and which you have something to add. Your input will be appreciated.

Feel free to take part in some of the BB Social Zone threads as well. You get to meet and connect with other members in a less formal setting there.

I hope you reply back to this thread with some more information. Hope to see you around.

Hi Taurus thanks for the great welcome. After several doctors I am finally settling down a bit and feeling more at ease with things now, I am seeing a new Psychologist soon and I am hoping that goes well. I do a lot of things myself but it still gets on top of me. I have not been formally diagnosed however with the last psychologist she was leaning toward social anxiety, with a bit of ocd thrown in. I am a difficult one I think and it is taking awhile to get things right but I want to find out myself. I know that I have been stressed for as long as I can remember and I have always been told that I am too sensitive. My blood pressure spikes and that led to a misdiagnosis a few years back (my anxiety blows out my BP) Losing weight did not lower my BP like the first DR thought. I am eager to find out just exactly why my problem is. Kind regards Rob

Hi Taurus, what I hope to achieve or get out of this forum is advice, sharing life experiences with people that know how I feel. Also I hope that I can in some way maybe help someone as well in time.

Hi sorry for the late reply. I have just been doing things to keep busy and thinking a lot about the meeting with the new psychologist. It went well but have some questions for him next time I go in. I find it hard to find people that I get along with lol. I don't think that I am that hard to get along with I just ask questions if want and if I do not feel right about something I voice up. Sometimes it rubs people the wrong way and I always try and be polite about it. I don't just blindly take any medications that Dr's may recommend and sometimes it irks them. I have to do a lot of soul searching and researching myself. Some medications or rather the most popular medication that most Dr's want one to take for anxiety is one that I will not take. So That is not an option. I have my reasons. Thanks for saying hello and I hope that you are having a great day!
