Hi there, I am a Wally. Lovely to see you here. I note that you have already found your way to some of the Social Zone threads, like the Cafe and some of the games. That is a great way of familiarising yourself with the site. And also to get to know some of the other members in a less formal setting.

When you are ready, perhaps you would like to tell us a bit more about yourself? Like, what brings you here? Is there anything specific that some of us may be able to help you with? There are many people here with a wide and much varied range of experience with mental health issues. The BB fraternity are a friendly, caring and non-judgemental bunch and are very happy to offer advice and support if you require it.

Be assured that this site is secure and anonymous, so you should have no concerns in that regard. It is moderated to ensure all of our safety. So please feel free to speak openly about anything that is currently bothering you.

I look forward to hearing from you again. Meanwhile enjoy your 'tour' of the many Forums we have here on site.

Taurus

Taurus thank you for the warm reception. I have depression and angsity. Plus PTSD because of some of my past activities in first aid. Search and rescue in the bush. Plus some road accidents I have come across. Don't know what else to say at this stage.

I am a Wally

Hi Wally. Well it seems we have a few things in common. I too suffer from PTSD, with a sizable dose of anxiety and bouts of depression. And I have spent most of my life living in the bush.

I would suggest you take a look in the PTSD & Trauma section of the Forums. In there you will find a specific thread called: PTSD for Medical and First Responders. I think you will find it helpful, because it is specifically for people such as yourself on the front line.

In the meantime I urge you to browse the PTSD & Trauma threads, and feel free to respond to any threads where you feel you have something to offer, or any that resonate with you in some way. Your contribution will always be very welcome.

Also take a look in the Long Term Support threads and look for those to do with PTSD. I think you will find them very helpful as well. They are from people who have bravely told their stories of trauma, how they have coped, and many of them explain their often rocky road to recovery. Some stories are very inspiring, as I feel sure yours will be as well.

You dont have to say anything for now. Just know that many people will be here to listen and offer advice and support, as and when you are ready.

Take care.

Taurus

Hi Wally and welcome to the forums

Here were are a supportive forum offering users advice and support. None of us are professionals, just users like yourself, so please take professional advice over forum users. Remember to read and adhere to the forum rules and guidelines.

When people join the forums sometimes they like to introduce themselves and share a bit about themselves. It can be what your hobbies are or it could be mental health related. How much or how little your share is up to you. Remember you are anonymous so it maybe easier for you to share.

I'll share something about myself. I have GAD and I was officially diagnosed in mid 2015. I started volunteering online for beyond blue in mid 2016. I have recently started doing triathlons, however I am an amateur and am not too focused on times, but more on finishing and doing my best. I love watching the Suncorp super netball. I also like hanging out with friends and family and watching youtube in my spare time.
