Hello Vagabond,

Welcome! It's nice to meet you here on the forums, but I'm really sorry to hear that you've had a long and tough journey for the last 26 years. It sounds really tough, but I'm glad you've made it here. There are lots of people on the forums who have also dealt with depression for decades as you may have seen on other threads.

The forums are a super safe environment, so if you'd like to talk to us about anything, please feel free. We're here to support you, and hopefully help the road back to a better mental state a little easier.

Dear Vagabond~

I'd like to join James in welcoming you here to the Forum, it can be a good idea as there are many here who may have been in similar circumstances and can say what has helped them.

You sound depressed and unhappy, and the events in the last couple of decades have made you that way.

I could go ahead and just give you some general ideas about depression and coping such as Beyond Blue puts out here:

https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/depression

However, despite being accurate and comprehensive they are general and if I were you I'd expect something more than that.

Would you like to come back and say more about herself, your circumstances and you life in general?

That way we can talk about the specific problems you face

I look forward to hearing from you again
