Hi all

It's been a while since I've needed to reach out for support.

After an extended period of work and general life stress my body and mind are starting to rebel - morning nausea, worry, lack of focus, low self-esteem...

I've been fortunate to be able sleep very well and quite a bit in recent times but other symptoms have started since catching up on rest and it can be a little daunting.

Hopefully this board will help me to work through what is happening to my body and to keep my mind calm.

Cheers

Hi Anchor

Good on you for having the courage to reach out

I have known those feelings...they are exhausting....fatigue & stress rolled up together

Usually a sign we have way to much on our plates.....and need to shed some of it....Nice1 still being able to have good quality sleep though!

Our work or our personal life can trigger this awful set of feelings too

you are definitely not alone here Anchor

we are here for you

my kind thoughts

Thanks Paul 🙂

At the end of every year I seem to have a different set of stress symptoms - probably because I learn how to work through the previous ones.

unfortunately, with new symptoms comes new worry which feeds anxiety. Googling symptoms doesn't help either as it just gives me more to worry about.

I've tried to start some daily exercise in the form of walking which is reasonably easy to achieve while I'm on holidays. My muscles fatigue easily though which they never used to. The dr thought it was because my iron stores are very low.

I'm trying to stay calm and not stress myself into feeling sicker...it's just tricky.

Hi Anchor,

Like you, stress and worry have impacted my life. I hope you'll be able to manage and see improvements - with your proactive attitude, this seems probable.

Here are a few resources I recommend for you:

http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/infopax.cfm?Info_ID=53 (health anxiety)

http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/infopax.cfm?Info_ID=47 (improving self-esteem)

http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/infopax.cfm?Info_ID=46 (anxiety/worry)

Walking is great for both your body and mind, so this is a good approach to exercise and good health. I am fairly inactive, but walking is something I'm usually happy to do. Walking in nature is especially good for mental health, and is often great to do with a friend or partner.

Best wishes,

Zeal
