Hi everyone
I am new to this website so I don't really know where to start. It is comforting to know there are so many other people who experience similar issues, mainly anxiety in my case. Social anxiety is probably my biggest issue and I have lived with this for almost as long as I can remember. It can be a very scary and lonely place to be. Having other people to talk to or listen to, who understand how I feel is such a nice feeling.

Hi Cheery and welcome!
You're definately in the right place there are heaps of people on the forums who will be able to relate to you.
What sort of things do you do to manage your social anxiety? You mentioned you have dealt with this all your life do you have any ideas or techniques that help you that might benefit others?
This is your thread and is a place to talk about whatever you like whenever it suits you. I hope that you can use it whenever you are feeling scared or lonely to reach out for support.
Nice to have you on the forums Cheery 😊

Hello
Thank you for your message. I guess I try to do things that help my mind relax and not worry about things. I have tried meditation which helped at the time but trying to keep this up outside of the group I did the course with is a bit harder. Trying to stay motivated to do it regularly is tricky. I am now trying to listen to relaxation cd's which helps me calm my thinking patterns. Talking to someone about how I feel has also helped.
I really appreciate any advice from people who understand anxiety.

We all have different coping strategies, ones which appeal to us more than others. Geoff.

Hi Geoff
Thanks for replying. We don't realise how many people are trying to cope with similar feelings whether it is anxiety, depression or other issues. Just knowing we are not alone really does lift that heaviness or sadness that we feel.
