Heya! I'm Bee.
I decided to join the forum to get support, as I've been really struggling lately. I have been diagnosed with depression for around 3 years now but it recently hit much harder so I thought I could use the extra support. I'm excited to get to know you all :).
Hope you're all doing okay,
Bee

Hey guys.
I'm overwhelmed with happiness by all of the support. I really appreciate you all taking the time to post a reply.
When I first started my AD's, I was on roughly half the does I am on now. My GP recommend that I speak to a paediatrician about upping my dose but my parents have been unable to find a suitable one.
I am however doing a lot better than when I originally posted. Coming on this forum has really helped.
Thanks everyone!
Bee

Hello Bee, it's great to know you are getting the attention you thoroughly need.
It's actually you and the paediatrician who have to find the best AD that will help you, sometimes our parents get tired of us having to change the AD, but we have to know which one is the best that does what we definitely need to enable to begin our recovery.
Even when we feel as though we have been able to climb the ladder and feel much better, your doctor may suggest you remain on them for a little while longer to avoid a relapse which may be possible as we have different experiences in life.
I'm happy you are feeling better.
Geoff.

Hi Bee
My child fell ill with a mental health condition at age 13 and she regularly saw a paediatrician. They can really help with a lot of things (medication, sleep, diet) but they can be hard to find depending on where you live. You may not likely need a lot of appointments so perhaps mum and dad could expand the geographic search area? Just a thought.
A child psychiatrist could also help with your medication. They too are hard to find but perhaps it’s something you could explore with your GP.
I know how hard it is to be a young person with a mental health condition. You are very brave and resourceful to be reaching out here—I feel honoured to be a part of your journey.
Kind thoughts to you
