Hi,

This is my first post! You guys can call me Sky.

I really dont know what is wrong with me but I started selfharming at the start of this year. I’m always tired even though I get a ton of sleep usually about 10 hours. I have seen my GP multiple times about me always being tired and not being able to get to sleep as I feel like I may be suffering from insomnia, but as I’m underage to have sleep medication there is legit nothing the doctor can do. I’ve also had 3 or 4 blood tests but everything is all good so its nothing wrong with my body.

I feel like I could be suffering from anxiety or depression as I’m always worrying about little things, agitated really easily, always tired, always feeling on-edge, I nearly always feel dizzy, I have a lack of energy and a loss of appetite.

Thanks,

Hello Sky,

Welcome to Beyond Blue Forums,,This is a caring, supportive and friendly community. Writing your first post is a first step in reaching out to others. Well done for achieving this.

I'm sorry, We are not able to give you any diagnosis, were people just like you who have struggled and still struggling with our own Mental Health, we are not professionals or therapists..

Are you able to sit down with your parents and tell them about how your always tired and not sleeping well sometimes, and tell them how your felling..

You say your under age for any sleep meds, did your mum take you to the dr or did you go on your own...Are you able to make a long appointment with your GP who might be able to offer some assistance and support too, they have numerous resources and may be able to give you a referral to councilling as well as ADs if needed.

Do you still go to school, would you be able to talk to your school Health Officer and speak to him/her about what's happening to you.. he/she might be able to help by approaching your parent if it's to hard for you to..

please let us know how you get on..you can come here no talk any time you want to..

kind thoughts,

Grandy..

Hello Sky, and can I give you a warm welcome as well.

Much has been said which I agree with, but in the mean time can I ask you to google K-10 test.

This is where you are asked questions, and to score a number between 1 to 10, at the end you are given a final score, which rates whether you have depression/anxiety.

Give this result to your doctor when you are taken, but please do the test several times, but not straight one another, different times and different days.

We all tend to google what we think is wrong with us but dr. google can be very deceptive and can entice us into believing something, that maybe totally incorrect, and yes I have done it.

Sleeping 10 hours a night sounds good, but if you wake up and still feel tired as if you've only had 2 hours sleep then there is a problem.

Please take comfort that we are here for you.

Geoff.
