Hi Beyond Blue members, I'm turning 34 tomorrow. I have been feeling so alone all this time, anxiety and depression probably my only companions.
But, I denied my feelings for years, only these 2 years I started to realize how lonely I have been. I used to achieve a lot in the past, recently, I have brain fog which makes me get trouble in my professional life. I really want to feel better, feel myself again after these brain-fogs years, I assume you do too, that is why we are here seeking support.
I have a very limited social support who understand my condition. If you are looking for a safe genuine supportive connection who understand each other's condition, can we maybe be friends?
I am probably not in my best possible self at the moment. But, if we connect to each other, form a small group with deeper connection, maybe we can be a help/support for one another.
Thank you 😊

Hello Dear Sonne,
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums…
I’m sorry your feeling so alone, you’ve come to the right place to find like minded people, wanting to feel good about themselves….depression seems to take that feeling away from us….I have anxiety and for years kept to myself, then I started to volunteer myself to a charity shop, wow it was hard and scary at first, but with perseverance I am doing okay at it…
These forums are my social supports….the members here are amazing…I am sure many others will pop in from time to time to chat with you….
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Dear Sonne…..I hope you have a wonderful day….Are you doing anything special for your birthday?……
Looking forward to hearing from you soon….
My kindest thoughts and care dear Sonne..
Grandy..

Hi Sonne,
Nice to meet you. I am 28 years old and I am just like you who come to the forum because of my own issue and loneliness. I just want you to know that you are not alone and I am glad that you come to this forum to seek support. I am sure everyone in this forum, myself included would love to be your friend.
While I am not very familiar with your condition, from what I know, there are some things that you can do that might help, so I hope you don't get stressed out too much and get better one day.
Can you tell us more about yourself, like what are your hobbies and interest if you don't mind? Happy birthday, by the way.
Chris

Hi Sonne,
Welcome to the forum.
I'm so sorry for your challenge, but we are here to listen and help.
When you say you have brain fog in recent years, do you know what caused it? Covid, other illness, or medication? And do you want to share whether you tried to seek any professional support including a doctor or a psychologist?
Hope everything will be better.
Mark

Hi Grandy,
Thank you for your response and support. It means a lot to me 😊 I treated myself a pair of jeans in my birthday 😁 at least I did something for myself.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your response and encouragement, and birthday wishes. Whenever I read encouraging messages like yours, I feel less lonely, but at the same time, feeling so alone because in reality, there is literally no one I can turn to when I am experiencing hard times.
I have Kalimba, which I learn to play only recently, and I like to take a walk, a slow-long walk, especially when my mind is wandering or ruminating on unnecessary things.
Hope to talk more here 🙂

Hi Mark,
I have sought professionals, GP, psychiatrist, psychologist (many of them). I don't know what it causes, have no explanation from the professionals too. I just feel less capable compared to my younger-self, which makes me feel ashamed, low self-esteem, low self-efficacy, low self-confidence, etc.

Hi Sonne,
I'm happy you have some warm replies. Unfortunately this forum is fully anonymous, so ongoing friendships are restricted to posting and reading. This means that "forming a small group" isnt allowed under the rules.
That doesnt mean you cant apply yourself as a dedicated member as Ggrand has mentioned. It's a wonderful group and we do have a social section Cafe just search for it in the box at the top. We might also have suggestions in meeting people
