Got the shakes

Gingy_75

Have developed a new symptom, recently, not sure what to make of it?... Does anyone else feel shaky, like your trembling internally when you get up in the morning? I’m feeling a little shaky as I’m typing this, which in turn is making me more anxious. My 3rd day taking medication, would I be feeling side effects already?

Hi Gingy#75

Thanks for your post.

Being shaky can absolutely be a side effect of medication. I've gotten side effects from my own medication/s within 24 hours so it's not unusual that you could be experiencing something this early.

Often while the side effects can be super difficult to deal with, often they are temporary. As always, with anything related to medication, you can always chat to your GP or your pharmacist too.

I hope it resolves for you soon!

Hi Ging#75,

Thank you for your post. Questions about side effects from taking medication are a common question in this thread. I can't offer specific advise about side effects as every medication has a different side effect profile and each person will react differently to a medication based on their own body chemistry. Having side effects can cause worry for some people which can make the experience of taking medication more difficult. You are not alone. I had side effects from taking antibiotics just recently and even though I knew to expect them, I still felt stressed when I experienced them.

If you are feeling distressed by new side effects, as romantic_thi3f has suggested, a great start would be to talk with you local Pharmacist where you can can discuss the side effects of the medication you are taking. They are able to offer a good summary of the most common side effects, less common side effects and explain whether your experience is expected. They may suggest scheduling a visit with your Doctor which is also another option. A visit to seek advise from a health professional can really help resolve worry and make the experience of starting a new medication less stressful.

Another strategy is to start keeping a daily side effect journal about your experience with the medication and any new sensations in your body. This can help a health professional get a better understanding of your experience.

Wishing you the best possible outcome,

Nurse Jenn
