Hi Ouat,

Unfortunately side effects from medication can be very normal for some people.

When you received the medication from the chemist, did the tablets come with an information sheet at all?

If not, then return tot he chemist and ask to talk tot he chemist and to receive information about the medication. Have a chat with the staff and explain how you are feeling.

Or go to your Dr and have a chat with him or her.

Some medication needs to be taken with food, or before food. Check up when you should be taking the medication.

In some people the side effects can last for a couple of days or a couple of weeks. If you are very concerned about how you are feeling, like I mentioned ask the Chemist or your Dr.

If you are really concerned, you could Google your medication name, check the list of possible side effects. I am not sure, but there may be a phone help line you could call as well.

Please don't be concerned about the list of side effects that you will read. The companies have to list everything. That doesn't mean you will suffer from every condition that is listed.

The best thing to do in any medical situation is to consult with your Dr. or the chemist. Apart from Dr. Kim who responds to some posts, non of us are medical professionals as far as I know.

Cheers for now from Mrs. Dools

hi Ouat, well I don't think I can add much more than what Mrs.Dools has said as she has ticked all the boxes.
It is awful to get these side-effects but if they don't settle down then you need to go back to your doctor. Geoff.

Hi Ouat,

Just wanted to share this link from the NPS website. You can search the medication that you've been taking and it can show all the common side effects as well as 'when to worry'. Often side effects can subside after a couple of weeks as your body gets used to the new medication.

http://www.nps.org.au/medicines

You can also ring either your pharmacist, your GP or NPS Medicine Wise (which is triaged by a GP anyway) on 1300 MEDICINE(1300 633 424).

Thanks for this excellent information. It is what I was trying to say without having the exact knowledge behind me! That is why this forum is so good, everyone pitches in to help!

Excellent.

It would be good if we could set up a thread with helpful information like this. Maybe something like a "Contacts for Assistance" thread would be beneficial.

Cheers all from Mrs. Dools
