Hi sleepy my weekend was a bit boring still just trying to rest and recover.I didn't sleep much last night and really tired again today.I was up half the night coughing with the cooler night air we are getting here.
I remember trying meditation with my psychologist a few years ago.My daughter does it too when she needs to.
I can always listen to rain.Sometimes prefer a rainy day to sunshine.Looks like the rain is gone for the moment and back to nice warm days here.
Still early here and the sun hasn't come up yet.I am always up early always seemed to be the best part of the day.

Hi Mark, hi Sleepy
Sorry you're still unwell Mark - I guess all you can do is try to rest as much as possible. I've come down with something too, strange for this time of year. A couple of cooler days with some rain yesterday which was wonderful.
Sleepy I hope you are going OK.
Not much news here - did a big shop yesterday at the supermarket and wondered why I felt so tired, woke up today with a virus.
It does finally feel like there is a touch of autumn in the air at last!

Thanks Mark, I took things quietly this afternoon and feel a bit better now. Probably caught some kind of mild virus at the supermarket.... it's much more comfortable here today in the cooler weather - meant to get warmer during the week but it looks like the nights stay cooler which is much better.
Not much happening here today as it's just been a quiet day. Am going to relax this evening and enjoy some nice music - kitty is already asleep, I think it must be the cool weather!
I hope your son and daughter are going OK.
Best wishes to Sleepy if you are around Sleepy.

Hi Mark
Glad to hear you are slowly improving. Lunch out to celebrate your son's birthday sounds like a lovely idea!
It's warm during the day here but the nights and mornings are definitely cooler. It's much more pleasant after that hot muggy summer. Kitty is doing well, seems to trust me much more and is friendly and affectionate except when he's hungry!
I seemed to run late all day and I don't know why. I have noticed there is a nice sounding concert on here next month and I will book in for that.
I am still stuck with my next door neighbours sitting outside my loungeroom window all evening. I can hear their voices so they can definitely hear whatever I am doing - what music I'm playing or what I am watching on TV or Utube. I really dislike the lack of privacy - they sit there every morning as well. I actually tested it recently and left music playing and lights on and retreated to the bedroom late at night - when I checked an hour later they were still sitting outside the window. I switched off the music and lights and they immediately got up and went inside - so clearly they are listening and only go to bed when I seem to be going to bed. It's driving me slowly nuts! They have no understanding of giving people privacy.
Other than that - got myself a new vacuum cleaner, what fun that will be (not) but it's necessary. Today has been one of those days when nothing very exciting has happened, sorry Mark that I don't have more interesting news!
I hope Sleep is doing OK - hi Sleepy.

Hi Hanna that must be real uncomfortable for you to have a neighbour like that.zi think I would find that real scarey.
Today I went to a homeless shelter to donate a thousand dollars and while I was there a young man came in wanting help him and his wife and kids have been evicted and now living in a car as they can't find anywhere else to live.Is really sad so many stories like that.
Not much else is happening here.zit was a warm day with mornings and evenings getting cooler which helps things.

Hi Mark, that's really kind and generous of you to donate that money to the shelter. I'm sure they will find plenty to do with that money, the situation re homelessness is so bad and I don't see our government (of either side) doing much about it. There are tent cities going up around this area and people living in the bush only a few minutes from me - the local St Vincent de Paul people know about them all - they are trying to purchase a motel here so they could at least offer temporary accommodation to needy people and need the government to help with the cost - the local Catholic church is also helping.
We have huge homes being built here and the people living in them have huge boats and cars - I reallly worry about how Australia is becoming like America with the very rich and the very poor - it's a bad way for a country to be - we should have most people being relatively comfortable but without these extremes of wealth and poverty.
Yes my neighbours have some kind of MH problem I think - but they sit outside smoking all day and into the late evening and I have no privacy - they must know what I have on the TV or what music I am playing - when I make a phone call I have to go into the bedroom to talk as othewise they would hear. To be honest, it's driving me nuts - they seem to have no understanding of people's privacy.
And the cigarette smoke is pouring into my unit! I'm doing the last bit of paperwork on the transfer application so that will be in soon.
Today I have to have my car back at the mechamic all day - he was supposed to have fixed the foggy lights but it's all peeled off and he has to re-do it all for free. Just a nuisance not to have my car for the day again.

Hi Hanna I would hate the cigarette smoke blowing in.I am not sure what the laws are with smoking in buildings like yours.
I picked my son up from school and he had a good day.Ths head of special needs walk out with him to the car everyday to make sure he is safe and not bullied.

Hi Mark
That's good that the special needs teacher walked out with your son to make sure he is OK - has the bullying settled down at all, or are the kids still at it? I hope the teachers are keeping a close eye on things for your boy. How is your daughter doing at the animal shelter? Are you still having to drive her there and back?
It was a hot day here and it's a long walk back from leaving the car at the mechanic. I then had to walk a long way back to collect it this afternoon - they said another car had the same thing happen with the headights fogging up again and they don't know why. I hope it works this time, it's a nuisance having the car off the road. I have been on the phone for ages chatting with an old friend of mine in Sydney - the day just goes somehow.
There are rules about smoking here but they are never enforced. The neighbours never go out at all, so they sit outside and smoke all day and all night - they must be doing terrible damage to their bodies but unfortunately the secondary smoke is doing damage to me and I can't escape it. I will finish the transfer application next week and get it handed in.
Today has been dull because I just had to wait in for the car to be fixed. I did some teaching long ago and I have been reading reddit teachers, they are saying kids don't know how to use scissors now and that parents don't read to them. I suspect the parents are probably both working and get home too tired - but I never thought about kids not knowing how to use scissors to do cut-outs.
Have you watched any good movies lately Mark? I haven't seen much - I have a documentary out from the library on the history of the British Police service which actually sounds pretty interesting - I quite enjoy documentaries sometimes.
I found some great Utube videos for cats to watch of things like fish in aquariums - and then I discovered that kitty is terrified of my computer! He ran away as soon as I tried to show him the screen - so obviously I am going to have to get him used to the laptop before I try showing him any movies again!
I am off to get some dinner and relax at last..summer is going out with a bang apparently as it's hot all week.
