I have been experiencing suicidal thoughts and have been dealing with some self-harm I’m not sure who to talk to about it as I have never been very confident in asking for help

Hello Dear Guest 19719504,

A very warm and caring welcome to our forums,

I am so sorry your struggling with suicidal thoughts and self harm….I have been where you are right now…I rang me Dr..and set up a long appointment with her and then talked to her about my thoughts, feeling, fears etc….my Dr. then set me up a mental health care pland, which had free sessions with a psychologist….maybe this is something you might consider trying….please try hard Guest to reach out to your Dr/Gp…for the help you need and so much deserve…

We are all here for you, if you want to talk some more and let us know a little about yourself…we will do our best to support you the best we can….We are not counsellors, just people like you who have lived experience and offer our insight…..

My kindest thoughts and care Dear Guest…

Grandy..

Hi.  I would personally suggest you start with your doctor. I understand that it can be scary and sometimes intimidating to reach out for help when we need it.

Try to remember that your mental health is just as important as any other health issue such as asthma or diabetes.  And please don't think that what you are feeling is not valid or important enough to get medical assistance because you matter and so does how you feel mentally.
