hey all! i hope ur all doing well
i'm just feeling really low today, have had my mum say i should talk to my therapist about my 'unhealthy relationship with any movement at all' i think she thinks i'm obese or something and i know i'm kind of overweight but i do my best. having some bad relapse thoughts from when i used to $h last year, but i don't want to do it again but feel like i have to hurt myself somehow because i'm so worthless. idk, just feeling horrible tbh, any advice on how to get past the urges and feel better would be appreciated
whoevers reading this go get a drink of water and stretch - take care of yourself!!

Hey se3re1,
Thank you for your post! We hope this community can feel like a safe and welcoming space for you during what sounds like a really challenging time. Those self-harm urges can feel really strong and being able to write about what you've been experiencing is a really brave step.
You are not alone in this, and there are some great resources that we hope can be helpful:
- ReachOut Self-help for self-harm: Some practical strategies for when the urges feel strong, including alternatives to self-harm
- My Green Box - also from ReachOut, a way to manage urges to self-harm - creating your own safe box as a go-to when the feelings are strong
If you're looking for additional support, here are some additional support services designed for young people:
- Headspace: Chat with a clinician online or over the phone on 1800 650 890 (3pm-10pm every day). They have some great self-guided wellbeing activities, too.
- Kids Helpline: Available 24/7 for ages 5–25. You can call 1800 55 1800 or use their webchat to talk to a counsellor.
- ReachOut: ReachOut have a range of resources including online chat with a peer worker
You're also always welcome to reach out to the Beyond Blue Support Service team, on 1300 22 4636 or online.
In the meantime, how has this past week been for you? Has there anything that you have been able to do to take extra care of yourself - even something small? Even exactly what you suggested - having a stretch and taking a drink of water - can help gently shift your mindset when you're feeling low.
Thank you again for sharing here. We hope that you can treat yourself with kindness while you're going through this. We are here for you whenever you need. 💙
Kind regards
Sophie M
