I stay well by:
1 I changed my relationship to the society I AM forced to live in. It is Corrupt, competitive, cruel and greed based and not at all how we should live together in cooperation harmony and mutual respect. I realised that this "slavery" was the cause of my soul pain or depression if you like.
2 By the use of "I" statements and owning everything I say and not hiding behind "WE" or "YOU" statements.
3 By deprogramming my self from codependent behaviour.
4 By taking total responsibility for everything that happens in my life. I AM Master and Commander of my life.
5 By trusting my In-Tuition.
6 By following my heart
7 By going barefoot and getting as close to nature as I can
8 'Anything that is not nurturing for me i call the "Beast". I no longer feed the beast!
9 By KNOWING that there is No-Thing wrong with me!
Hope this resonates. Love Bob

Hi Journeyman
Good post, anything that can steer us all towards the better light is positive.
Bob, being commander of our lives is the one that impressed me. Far too often some of us allow our past to be an over bearing influence as we cant put it to rest or tuck it away at the back of our minds and get on with living our lives. These things, memories from hell, keep slipping to the front of our brains to cast other happy times aside.
Being your own commander is an answer we can work on.

Awesome Bob. May I please add:
10) By accepting and surrendering to my situation
11) By not identifying with thoughts and feelings, as neither of them are "me" nor do they define "me"
Best,
Steve

Hi
"Master and Commander" interesting concept.
If you google "Topic: depression, a ship on the high seas- beyondblue" A metaphor about acceptance in the world of depression.
Hop you find that interesting.

for me all are equal and all are unique! All I have is my story and it is my fervent hope that by sharing my story my discovered truths that some elements may resonate with other folks and help them on their way. I have no ones answers! I believe that everyone has to find their own way because ALL are Unique!
I spent most of my working life in Engineering (Automotive Research mainly) and so I have a mechanical approach to my own Journey. A long the way I have collected a set of tools that I keep in my spiritual toolbox and will share them as this tale unfolds.
My #1 tool is "MY mind is just a tool that I use when I choose". I AM not my mind and I treat my mind like I do my little terrier. When he gets feisty I throw him a stick and off he goes. I do the same with my mind a give it a task to do and come back to me with the answer. In this way my mind no longer intrudes into my well being! I also have a visualisation that I use to completely shut down my mind, very useful at times as you may imagine! and here is something amazing: it wasn't untill I silenced my mind that I could finally hear Myself!
Hope this resonates. Love Bob
