What's your "I should have done" during the Coronavirus?

Hello all,

I read some advice today that struck a chord to do with finding positives arising from CV-19. The idea is to take advantage of the forced extra time we might have for ourselves due to having to stay at home everyday with our social calendars being wiped out. It would be good to not look back with regret in a few months and say "I should have" done this or that. I'm trying to get into a routine of waking early & doing a run around the park in the time I would normally travel to the office, although I have to admit I'm still not sleeping great. Can anyone suggest other things they "should" now definitely do in the next few months?

Hi Daniel,

I love this idea.

I think my 'should do' is practicing Yoga every day. I actually signed up for a class that was support to start mid march, but obviously it got cancelled. But now that I am working from home every day and do not have to commute, I can find time to do a little bit every day. Maybe find some instructional tutorials or online class.

Thanks for introducing this topic!

Hello Daniel,

This is a wonderful idea. I really should get round to learning knitting. I've been meaning to for years, but I keep finding excuses (the latest being that I don't have knitting needles!). It's time to put aside those excuses!

Cheers,
Emmen

Hi Daniel,

Great idea!

Meditating, exercising/moving, trying to get some fresh air, drinking lots of water, eating healthily/cooking are all commonly beneficial things, but I think that everyone 'should' only do whatever they feel they need to do.

There is no need for people to compare themselves to others.

Some days we feel motivated and active, other days we want to stay indoors and relax 🙂

Hi everyone

Today (or yesterday - ooops) I did something that made me feel proud - after forever thinking about it but never doing, I recorded a video blog on my balcony (AKA an extension of my home office at the moment) and posted it to LinkedIn to share with my professional community. In the video itself I talked about CV19 gives people the chance to go out their comfort zone in a positive way so they will end up learning new skills and having a feeling of accomplishment. I explained how for me doing the videos was itself something of a jump into the deep end. It seems to have lots of nice feedback so I'm feeling positive!

I'm already 5kg lighter simply by watching what I eat and putting a movie on in front of the tread mill each day and taking a leisurely walk until it's finished. 5kg in three weeks, I'm shocked and a few great movies the wiser :0)

Love it ox

Hi everyone

Aside from my studies is taking some online courses for learning more skills and trying to initiate some personal project to put on resume. I feel like this is a perfect time to learn new industry relevant skills/technologies and frameworks.

Emmen I had not knitted for nearly 40 years and I bought some needles but the woll was all acrylic. I have knitted a scarf and just plain because all I can do is cast on cast off and plain knit.

Daniel what a great thread.

If we say I should have we wont have done it now, so do you want us to think of what if we don't do it now, we will we wished we had!! Confused ??

I would like to learn another language but not sure I will.

Gosh, I wish I had room for a treadmill! Although my concern is that the 'novelty' would wear off, and it would just end up gathering dust, under the bed somewhere!

I do have one of the 'wobbly/vibrating' things that you stand on that shakes your whole body around ...... and I've even lost interest in that too!

Mainly I'm just trying to stick to getting in a brisk walk of 3 to 5 kilometres, on the days that I'm not working. On the days I do work, I'm on my feet all day anyway. Two or three years ago, I did actually lose a total of 24 kilograms, and have kept it off ever since, so I'm pretty happy with that!

Anyway, I am very grateful for the life I already have really, and can't think of any 'should' type things, to be honest. In fact, I don't like the word 'should'. I prefer the word 'could'. The word 'should', to me, means pressure, whereas the word 'could' means opportunity!

Anyway, that's my two bobs worth!

Thanks Rumples, and everyone! xo
