What's the best gift you've ever received? Or on your wishlist?

Hi,

With Christmas around the corner I'm a little behind on my Christmas shopping (aka have not started and overwhelmed by choices) so I thought maybe I'd ask you all for help.

Is there a Christmas present that really stuck out to you? Something fun you got one year? 🙂 Or, if you're stuck, what's something on your wishlist?

I have to say that I'm a bit of a bookworm, so anything related to books or reading would make me happy.

Last Christmas (not the song, lol), my brother nailed it by gifting me a katana
Knowing my passion for Japan, it was an incredibly thoughtful and unique present. If you’re looking for ideas, consider something that taps into the recipient’s hobbies or interests, it makes all the difference! Late to the thread but maybe this gave someone an idea 🙂

Hi Valmaniallo,

I had to look up katana and, wow, what an amazing gift! Isn’t it lovely when someone really reflects on what you are passionate about. I would love to visit Japan one day. I learned some Japanese in high school. I would particularly love to go there to do photography which is a passion of mine.

I am remembering a very kind gift given to me. I was leaving one job to go to another. One of the current managers I was working with was such a lovely person and I’d helped her when she first arrived with regard to learning the resources and services provided in our section. The new job I was going to was where she used to work. In my first day in the new job the guy who ran the attached cafe came to me with a cup of free coffee. The manager from the previous job had bought it for me knowing it was my first day there and to make me feel welcome. She knew the cafe owner well and had paid him in advance to give me the surprise coffee. I always remember that kindness.
