We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

Hey hey BB Self-carers!
A huge warm welcome to ALL the beautiful new Posters here in this little spot of sunshine lol.
Big warm hugs to the beautiful regulars to this thread, thankyou for keeping it pumping along!
I had to make a long trip this week which was chock full of triggers - well it's a gift that just keeps giving!
So today I:
~ bought some nourishing foods early after dropping kids to work (yay barely anyone there!). I needed some crusty bread rolls for the following...
~ got a wonderful Winter soup going in the crock pot for a pre-order by eldest d for dinner tonight lol... she says my food is healing because it's made with LOVE hahaha...
~ I spent some time in the garden while my chickens had breakfast, pulling out weeds to fill up my Green Bin, YAY! Heavy work is very grounding for me. I even got to take off a few layers from the sweat build up lol.
Back to "work" and "school" tomorrow in the continuing Lock Down.
It's "fun" not having the technology at home to support all the kids BUT we'll get through it ... again.
Additionally I will also be working from home at least part of the time. Hopefully I can borrow a laptop from work, we'll see lol.
Sadly I had to rip and chew and cut off ALL my fancy fake nails! Hahaha, my nails look like they've been going since the 18th Century now, awful but great for gardening!
It's easier to cook and wash the dishes without them - just saying.
Take care everyone, I really enjoyed reading all the self-care!
Thanks for being proud of me missep lol. We've got this sister!
Love EMxxxx

Hi Everyone,
Sharing today's self-care activities :).
1) I felt grief from my heart break, so I talked to a friend about it, and allowed myself to feel sad with tears.
2) Went for a run that helped clear my mind and be mindful
3) Had a Kit Kat. Have a break, have a Kit Kat!
Have an awesome day !
Jt

Tomorrow I will:
- Go for a long walk (listening to an audio book and grabbing a takeaway coffee on the way back).
- Get on top of the washing and vaccuum the house (it always makes me feel better when things are clean!)
- Get all my thoughts and worries down on paper and make a list of steps I need to take to get out of this funk!
^_^

I noticed I had made it to twelve hours without receiving a no-reply message from any of the far and wide internet forums I visit.
I noticed I was satisfied by that.
I helped my wife regulate a particularly anxious few minutes

I redirected emails that come from one organisation into my spam folder so that I don't have to see the software generated rubbish.
I politely excused myself from a telephone conversation with a family member that was their attempt at helping me, which I neither asked for nor wanted. He's a top bloke, but not right now thx mate.
I kept the heater on.

Today my three self-care things are:
1) Decided to do some online shopping to finalise birthday presents for my mum and brother (that felt nice!)
2) I will have some home-cooked lunch and dinner
3) I will watch reality tv (my favourite guilty pleasure)
