We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

EM, have found your post on Return & Earn. Good stuff. Not_Batman, glad this week is looking a bit more positive for you. Glad you're getting a handle on boundaries, Sleepy.
Today I:
- Got out in the garden and got the grass cut. Feeling good about that.
- Gave myself a pedicure. Toenails are now alternating bright pink and rose gold. 🙂
- Am about to fire up Jade Empire on the PC. An old game, but a delightful one.

so loving the alternating toenails - yassss
Hope everyone's self-care is good. Nice one having a cuppa with ur daughter EM (few posts back).
- Had a mindful cup of tea outside, felt the breeze. Warm and sweet tea 🙂
- Went easy on myself during a difficult time - did things in small bits
- Texted to get clarity about a commitment, as it was stressing me out not being 100 perent certain what was happening

Wow peeps, I can see the "tone" of our self-care getting LIGHTER!
Thankyou everyone for pointing out when things get tough and how you dealt with it, like WOW again. It's really humbling being part of this for everyone.
Heartfelt HUGS!
We're doing SO WELL! I'm so proud of everyone and myself too - why not.
My 3 self-care things:
* man did I have a tough morning, woke up real yucky. Decided to tell my BF exactly how I was feeling and he was able to say everything I needed to feel loved, validated, stable and idk just accepted.
I'm so lucky to have him.
* made the excellent move of doing revolting paperwork for my son ALL IN ONE HIT. I smashed it out, all 18 blerghhh pages of it!
That's exposure therapy, bonding my relationship with son and self-care by "doing it NOW".
* had a wonderful relaxing bath using all the great scrubby things I could find lol! Watching an awesome home makeover show and continued by reorganising my bathroom lol! (Yah I know you're proud of me Blue! lol minimising... yeehah!)
Feeling alot better now.
Love EM

Thanks Sleepy. I forget the toenails sometimes, and when I look down and see them, it makes me smile. Glad I did it. Great work EM (you bet I'm proud of you minimising, haha), and I agree, it's great to see everyone's honesty about hard times and coping strategies. 🙂
On here to remind myself to do the self care, as mood and energy are a bit lacking today. So here's my effort so far:
- Emptied my waste station. Feel a bit better with less mess.
- The inevitable quiet sit down with coffee. Blue need coffee.
- Bird snuggles. Sir Pecks is singing his little heart out on my shoulder as I type.

- bought 3 vintage tshirts!
-called re eyebrow appointments - this woman uses BEESWAX intead of waxing strips- is this different/special. She seemed to think it was.
- Napped and slept and let mself rest after a hard previous week

Hi everyone, what a fine job of self-care this team is doing, even when we don't want to do it! lol.
Today I:
* woke up early for a before work meeting.
* ate vegies and a home made noodle dish for lunch.
* will be spoilt to night by daughter buying us take away for dinner lol.
Some times self-care means we say YES to things.
Some times self-care means we say NO to things too.
It's okay to be OKAY!
Yes I wrote that just the way it is.
We can be okay, okay?

Lol... reminds me of that kid's rhyme one one was a racehorse...
I'm a liking your BOUNDARIES Sleepy!
Yeah stand up for yourself. Well done!
I never used to do that either, but I do NOW.
Also before I'd wait forever at street crossings... now I say to someone next to me "safety in numbers, let's go!" and we laugh as we make a move.
Stepping out of our comfort zone is OKAY! You can feel pretty proud of yourself for that Sleepy.
Hope you do too!
lol.... noice one.
PS: we ate far too much Chinese food tonight... it was yum!
