We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Hello EM.

Thanks heaps for this wonderful motivaing thread. This is one of my favourites in the staying well section. Yes it's true we often put others ahead of ourselves which is a beautiful quality. At times it can be a challenge as we seldom so anything for "us" "me" "I" "ourselves". There's absolutely nothing wrong by putting ourselves first in a BALANCED WAY, then we're able to help others if able.

I've really enjoyed being on this thread and wish you well with your kindness towards others. Take care ezzi

glad u got to chat to BF EM

love your beautiful feedback Ezzi, totally agree. you add a lot here, thank you for posting.

- called a helpline and gently asked to talk a bit more when offered the option at a check in from he counsellor

- asked my case manager Cheryl a bunch of questions. Got answers. Got answers I needed and deserved.

- did my nails

- felt all the feelings of the past few days - a mini rock-bottom, for which i'm grateful, bcause the only way is up.

Hello Ladies. my self care for today, used with a good quality non fragrant micro-dermabrasion on my face, neck finishing it off with a natural non fragrant essential oil to restore the vitamins and minerals that's necessary for a healthy glowing skin. Ahhh.. it feels sooo good. My skin is all nice and smoothe eliminating the dead skin cells that build up over time. Usually I do my shoulders arms, hands, legs, unfortunately didn't have enough so it was the face and neck. Feels so good to have sandblasted my turkey neck that we Ladies can't avoid as we age gracefully. Haven't done it done it for a while as most skin care products are loaded with those nasty chemicals and fragrances that makes me so ill. Have a good day. Take care All.

Hi Sleepy, I was just thinking of you. Thank you for the compliment but I will say your kind positive input on the beyond blue forums are superb. You have a kind gentle heart helping others when you're so unwell. I'm so happy to read you're out of hospital and getting the right professional support. Yes it's very true, we know our own mental emotional physical state far better ourselves than any Dr can no matter how much training they may have had. Sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience with a nurse. It's amazing there's always one or two nurses/Drs that spoil the the rest of the caring ones.

Regards take care

Dear Dools, huge long hugs. It's more than okay to grieve, it's needed.

I hope you find some sanctuary here in this self-care thread where I think we all do a beautiful thing - care for each other.

You can say anything you want to here. BE how you are feeling.

I just want to hug you!
love always EM

Hey Ezzi and Sleepy, nice talks about essential oils.

I think Ezzi was saying she needed fragrance free things?

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with a Nurse too Sleeps.

Gosh I find myself needing to process others' cruelty on an almost more than daily basis lately. And I'm on no social media.

I admire those who can forgive.
I find this VERY difficult to do.
I find the words of Jesus helpful.... lol maybe... but I'm not Jesus so yeah "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do".

I might revive the Random Acts of Kindness thread .... I cannot believe people use this time of a pandemic to become more cruel than usual. Almost kicking others while they're down, crazy stuff!

My fave essential oil is orange bergamot.
Any orange blossom anything lol.

My self-care today:

~ napped in the morning

~ prepared a nice lunch for us all

~ napped in the afternoon!

It was a perfect day for staying in bed, rainy and cold.
