We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes

Hey Guys,

I slept in(9am), pure indulgence and a delicious feeling as usually I am up between 5 and 6am.

Ate some freshly baked cake.

Did some stretching for my aching back.

Love and peace to you All.

My self care today:

1) Ate a cookie!

2) Had my usual lemon, honey, ginger tea in the morning 🙂 Great way to start the morning

3) Had a backyard picnic with my partner

ate cereal for dessert as I felt like it

did deep breathing exercise

made myself a cup of tea

My Self-care today:

~ accepted help, gifts and kindness (is that 3? lol)

~ had a nap after work

~ took the bins out lol.

~ reflected for a while on the boundaries I have to keep putting up working from home.

~ Taking an hour or overnight to reply to work emails that trigger strong emotions in me (my Counsellor recently reminded me to go back to the person in my past who helped create that trigger and how to do this), writing a draft of the email first and sometimes speaking with a colleague before replying, just to make sure it's chord is regulated, measured, appropriate. Atm most others are more emotive than me so yeah lol.

~ ate chocolate.

Hi all,

I see you guys have all been working hard at looking after yourselves and supporting each other. Great work, as always. It's a while since I posted, but I've been keeping up a decent effort at self-care. Here's some more recent stuff:

- Dropped another day per month off my work roster.

- Have been trying to do creative things more often, be it drawing, writing, painting, or anything else that springs to mind.

- Trying to eat better. Nutrition slipped a bit thanks to rather bad fatigue. It's a work in progress.

Blue.

hi Blues, i hear u on the eating nutritiously one, thanks for sharing ur beautiful self-care!

I'm strugging with self-care and my inner-critic is snarling a lot today.

today I:

texted my friend

bought some take away because i needed to eat well and was so tired of cooking

left the house quickly bcause i wanted to get a coffee at my fave place which closes early on saturday

HI Ezzi

welcome to the BB forums, great that u joined! don't worry, u dont have to make an introduction post, it can be intimidating to do, so no worries to do it when u feel ready or not at all. If you do feel like it, it can be a nice way to meet ppl and talk about what you are struggling with. If you dont feel like it there are many threads like this one, where ppl talk on general topics of self improvement, there's another great thread called "three things to be thankful for today" which is nice and updated a lot.

Well done on joining and hope u find some benefit here!

Ezzi I am REALLY EXCITED you joined the BB forums and so awesome that you called THAT your self-care for the day lol, LOVE that.

A big warm welcome to you in our gorgeous group of Self-carers!

GROUP HUG lol.

Your post made me smile.

You know what?
You don't have to do ANYTHING you don't want to or feel like doing on the forums, except for trying to stay within the guidelines lol.

Share when and wherever and whatever you wish to.

Thankyou for coming in.
Love EM
