Hi Everyone
If you have any good news in your life or seen any good news in the media please let us know in a brief post 😊
Note: I understand and respect this thread topic is not for everyone as any level of anxious/depressive feelings are awful to experience
Just for myself I have a couple of positives
- Peta Credlin on Sky News gave Beyond Blue a huge mention earlier this week
- My mum is still independent and doing well at 90 years of age and her lung function test is 'Normal' and still a smoker! Love you mum x
any good news is welcome...and thankyou everyone for being a part of the Beyond Blue forums too!
my kindest always...Paul

Thanks Paul, you're very sweet!
Son who was promoted was pretty relaxed for the interview because it was only for practice! NOW he'll be an Assistant Manager. I went a bit wild on his Resume lol using "data". He'd taken pics at the exact store - pics of their ratings going UP as his shift progressed lol. They moved from almost 200th in the state up to 4th by the end of his shift!
I'd hire him too lol.
Our pets omg, cat is fatter thank goodness.
Rescue poodle is on a diet lol!
Chooks are laying LOTS.
Papa Brush turkey moved his mate in and now there's TWO Turkey mounds in our garden omg. Yeah that's good news too. So beautiful to see wildlife happy. Little bubba brush turkeys will be running about in a few months.
Oh almost forgot, MORE good news!
My brother actually took a set of drawers to put together for me, they were new in the box.
How sweet is that!
It was a contactless pick up lol.

1) In 2017, hacker group "Anonymous" successfully found an exploit and hacked into 10,613 illegal sites hidden on the dark web and deleted them completely leaving only the message "We do not forgive. We do not forget. You should have expected us.". This 1 single act successfully did more damage to the underground crime networks worldwide than the entire world's governments and cyber security teams over the last 10 years have been able to achieve combined.
2) In Kolkata (India), In 1996 a newborn baby girl was dumped next to a dustbin. 3 street dogs discovered her while searching for food and decided to protect her, refusing to leave her alone. It was observed that 1 dog would always stay with her as a guardian while the other 2 went searching for food, even carrying back some of the precious food they found in trash and repeatedly attempting to feed the child (unsuccessfully unfortunately of course). This went on for 2 days before some people finally came for her and took her to a police station. The 3 dogs followed the people back to the station and kept a cautious eye on her from the doorway refusing to leave. It was only when the baby was put into a car to be driven to her foster home that the dogs finally left and walked "home" back to their territory.
3) In some countries there is an inexpensive service which you can pay for in advance which will ensure that an exceptionally beautiful woman or man will come to your funeral dressed in obviously mysterious (but sexy black clothing). They will hold a black umbrella regardless of the weather and where dark sunglasses they will never take off. They will quietly but obviously weep at a respectable distance back from your family and friends for the entire ceremony and only after people have moved away (but are still in view) lay a single rose on your grave and stand there silently for 20 minutes crying.
If approached they will only ever give a first name and will only respond with things like "I'm sorry, I'm too heartbroken to speak right now" or "I don't believe that today of all days it would be appropriate to speak about that" or "All I can say is that 'they' were extremely important and special to me" or other things designed to be equally mysterious.
These services are specifically designed so that your friends and family will forever wonder what interesting and mysterious secret you had in life that none of them ever knew about and you took with you to the grave. Which is pretty cool.

I know of people in my town who deliver food and meals to people in need.
Afew local churches and the local supermarkets give out food hampers each day an no questions are asked. So if you say you need it you get a hamper.
I think it is great that individuals and groups are helping others struggling.
I am glad I live in a caring town.
Another town 20 mins away has a woman put a request on Facebook for food for people in her town and was amazed at the response.

Hey Paul, lol yep a CONTACTLESS pick up. We have to do them ALL the time here in hard lock down.
We have contactless "minding Alexa's dog" pick ups / drop offs. She needs care while Alexa's at work up to 12h a shift.
We have contactless egg deliveries too lol.
We have the "Community links" going ie I leave outside for a pick up (my chook's eggs) then person 1 picks up - contactless (we don't even talk or see each other lol!).
Then delivers to person 2s doorstep.
Person 2 takes to person 3s doorstep etc until destination.
Done because we can only travel within 5kms, ppl on their way to or from work.
Everyone is obeying laws but we need to FEED people.
ANY excess from our gardens is going via Community links.
Quirky that's AWESOME, love that.
I could read Unbeliever's posts about World GOOD NEWS 24/7 lol.
Wail - THREE more babies? WOW congratulations everyone!
Our GOOD NEWS:
~ YES prodigal son has top level approval for his WORK TRANSFER back home. SO grateful. Now he doesn't need to TRAVEL 10h+ for a work shift! yay! He may have to for school though later if LD is lifted but for now no. (Less Uber costs for me which is a great relief lol).
~ They started another son a month early in his Assistant Manager position omg, he's rapt!
~ Alexa decided to continue with her Psych Honors and began it. Amazing.
~ My bosses GOT my work overload (sure I had to contact my Union Rep lol) but hey hopefully that's a thing of the past.
~ My Leave was approved for next week; looking after Alexa after surgery AND supervising p.son's Trial HSC Exams. Might squeeze some gardening in lol.
~ rescue pup is losing weight lol. I have a Data Sheet for every time someone feeds him anything. He got into chocolate biscuits! Then lost it at us because we took them off him lol! This dog is a tyrant lol.
And will be disciplined, kindly.
~ I found my favourite Pastor on YouTube (who left our Church last year) and watch HIM each Sabbath - too happy for words.
~ I almost have my weekends back, so I WILL be able to garden. Hallelujah lol.
~ Self care happening more which is always wonderful.
Keep the GOOD NEWS coming in. We really need it peeps!! (it's a relief from the LD blues).
Love to all

Hi Missep,
What a beautiful news story! How amazing it would’ve been to recognise the doctor who saved her all that time ago.
Thank you for sharing this.

Yesterday was an amazing day. I became a member of pay it forward adelaide facebook group and made a post stating my need for a new phone. The administrators took that post down and said it was against the rules. I shared with them that they actually do not have that in their published rules and thus I wasn't breaking their published rules. I then posted up two ads for giving away valuable items that I no longer require and one person will arrive this arvo to pick up the items I am paying forward.
Some time later yesterday, I received a msg from the administrator of PIFA and she informed me that even though the rules are against asking for phones, she did actually have an IPHONE 8 plus that she would gift to me! Apparently her 23 year old son has an iphone 8 plus he no longer needs and him and his mum are happy to give it to me, for free, all I need do is drive for an hour down to adelaide metro and pick it up on Monday arvo!
I wept like a baby for 30 minutes with that good news and sharp contrast to being psychologically abused by _____.
