Dear All
The purpose of this thread is as a meeting point for those that can’t sleep and it is late (I.E. AFTER midnight.)
It can be a useful space for users to share their issues with insomnia as well as coping strategies. It can also be a general space for users to converse and support one another throughout a difficult night.
Please note – for those that are just bored or lonely we already have a place - the BB Café, which I recommend instead of here

Hi if anyone's around and wants to chat? Feeling lonely at the moment, and I'll be awake for a while.
PS - Harpbird, I like your profile picture. Is that your Dog?

Hi mb20lover
How are you going?
I seemed to have slept longer than usual so I don’t know if anyone else would be up now. But I thought to say hi and hopefully you and are having a good sleep?
It’s good to have this thread 🙂
take care,
Lillylane

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone else is up? I hope everyone is sleeping comfortably as a lack of sleep makes it hard to function.
I've had a really bad night and now I'm too scared to go to sleep. Does anyone know of any ways to try to overcome the pain related to really bad PTSD nightmares?
How can you shut your eyes ? I'm sorry I'm just really struggling with my emotions. I also just really miss my father who passed away last year.
How do you make the nightmares stop when your whole life feels like one giant nightmare?
Regards,
Emo.

Hi Emo,
I’m here. I’m sorry you’ve had a really awful night.
I struggle with grief too. I really miss my parents. And there’s no one I share that with, so it feels lonely at times.
I really feel for you. I hope that at least this is a place to talk.

Hi Lillylane,
Thank you for reaching out to me. It's so very lonely without my dad. I can't imagine how you feel with having lost both of your parents.
I still have my mother but its a very difficult relationship due to her beliefs on marriage.
I won't go into it but I've been thinking that for my mental health I might be best to cut off all contact with her.
I'd truly like to thank you for your support as it truly feels so lonely in my life right now.
I will take some time away to think some things through as I need to sort out my issues in my life.
I just wish that my grief wasn't consuming me so much. It's like I have a limb missing. I hope you are able to cope with your grief better than me.
Please try to talk about your parents loss with others as I know how hard it is having no one to talk to.
All the best.
Regards,
Emo.

Thank you Emo for your kindness and empathy. I hope you get a bit of time during the day to have a little sleep or rest. I can appreciate with all that you’ve been dealing with, it would be so difficult to get the mind to feel ‘at ease’ enough to fall asleep.
It was about a year ago that my mum passed. I felt so nervous telling my GP but at the same it was a relief and she took my distress seriously (I had high anxiety, panic attacks and difficultly eating and sleeping). With my GP’s help I gradually improved and started to function better again.
I’m thinking of you and sending my best wishes for some restful sleep. You are dealing with A LOT so I hope you can be gentle with yourself. Thanks again.

Hi Lillylane,
Thank you very much for showing me such kindness. It really means a lot to me.
I'm so sorry that your mothers passing was so recent. They say time helps lessen the grief but it just feels like it was only yesterday to me.
I've had a very bad day today so I won't get any sleep tonight. I just feel so incredibly lonely.
I hope you don't get to see this post until tomorrow as that will mean that you have had a restful night of sleep.
Please look after yourself as you are a really kind person to reach out to not only myself but all of the other people you are helping here on the forums. I know I greatly appreciate it.
Regards,
Emo.
