Hi Guest! 🙂
Welcome here and it's lovely to hear from you. It's good to reach out when feeling lonely. It's also quite a challenge moving to a new country and trying to connect and find new friends and a sense of belonging.
Are there any interests you have where you may be able to connect with others by joining common interest groups? Are you in a city or a regional area? You don't have to be specific about the location. I'm just wondering what kinds of opportunities might be available to you depending where you are.
You are really welcome to chat here anyway and share more about how you are feeling, if you would like to. We are listening and happy to talk with you.
Very best wishes,
Eagle Ray

Hi Manish,
That's great you have work in IT. I'm glad you are feeling more or less settled in North Brisbane. I am from the other side of the country. I'm now in a regional area in WA but I grew up in Perth and lived there until 2022. I've never been to Brisbane but from what I understand it is quite a sunny city like Perth, but more humid. I'd love to get to Queensland one day.
Have you had a chance to travel a little to other areas, such as the rainforests in north Queensland or some other places?
I was thinking one resource for you where you might find people to connect with is the Meetup website/app where there are many common interest groups. They can be groups that meet in person or some that meet online and there would be lots of different ones in Brisbane. I used it when I was in Perth and met some people through it. It's great that you have the badminton and gym. I played some badminton with friends many years ago and I really enjoyed it.
I hope you feel welcome here too, to chat and join any threads you would like.
Take care and we are happy to chat 🙂
