I'm sure the weather may not be very interesting to everyone, but I always like going into the Bureau of Meteorology website to find the weather for today. Then I can plan my tasks and errands around it. It's a great mental exercise and makes me feel less depressed and looking more forward to a good day.

hi
For most people the weather is just there! they adjust their lives, garments to suit it. They aren't that interested as a topic of conversation except for small talk.
Some people find Russian Military interest, like me, but it never gets a popular response at the bbq.
I also like astronomy, but they are more interested in how their steak is cooked. lol

Hello ScarlettR,
As a city girl who grew up with Aunts/Uncles who lived in the country, the weather was always a topic of conversation as it related to farm life. I learnt how the weather worked from an early age & have always found just sitting watching the clouds & the way the light changed over the day very relaxing. Now I have moved to a rural location with a view south west over a valley I have a wide horizon & love just sitting on the verandah watching the weather. I really love watching the fog fill the valleys or watching it disappear as the day starts.

City people who work in air-con, drive in air-con, watch TV predominantly seem to not know or care about the weather. I grew up on a farm, and the weather determined lives and what activities should be done in preparation or what can be done. Not many people used to know how to access the rain radar so it was always fun to try to predict if it was going to rain based on storm movement, and when it was going to rain. And from a psychological point of view, just being able to predict and prepare helped give a sense of control of what is likely to happen next.
Gardeners are one group of people who notice what happens with the weather, so if you find someone who is not interested in weather stuff, then they are likely to not be a gardener 🙂

Hello
The size of them makes the earth look like a pinhead, it just seems to be inconsequential that it seems to be impossible we are the life in the universe.
Maybe they all hide behind the rocks or have underground cities we can't see, who knows.
Geoff.

Super interesting question!
Sometimes I like talking about the weather. I like the diversity and beauty in it mainly. And it can be useful to know before hand if it is going to rain or not. I also like watching the clouds move, an approaching storm get closer, I even like the scent of rain. Watching clouds can be quite calming. I almost want to go outside and lay back, look up and see what is going on up there.
Now I also do not like talking about weather. Those times is when it is small talk. I never really like small talk, plus I struggle to know why people do it. Also I am not good at it and it feels so awkward or something.

Well I would like to write about the weather again.
Last night it was so calming and beautiful. I saw lightening light up the darkened sky. So I chose to lay on my bed and watch it through my very large bedroom window. I could feel the breeze coming in on me. Nice. I heard the rain as it came pelting down and kept hitting the street.
