First World Problems

Hi all. Just checking in and sharing a trick that I sometimes find helpful;

If I'm starting to feel stressed out about things that don't really seem to make sense as to why I am stressing, I ask myself two questions

1) Is it still gonna affect me in a month or a year's time?

2) Is it perhaps a first-world problem, for which I have forgotten to be grateful about?

I don't do it trivialize or dismiss what's going on, but it helps me to keep perspective and to know what issues need more attention.

Hi, welcome

I like your posts they are thought provoking.

This reminds me of a therapy session in 1987. Therapist asks what I thought about that week. My thoughts were full of fear of things that could happen but were very unlikely to.

So he taught me to separate the unrealistic ones. Took a bit of practice but even today I ask myself "am I being realistic".
