Hi EM,

I personally love white especially with timber/wood earthy stuff. It would go with your Scandi style too i imagine.. but black could be a nice contrast. I guess take advice from us, but go with what you feel. Try picture the end of room done with the different colour options you are considering.

Your daughters sparkle organizer sounds amazing. I had never heard of such a thing so i will have a google now lol. Anything to help our wellbeing and craft activities certainly do that. Brief rest for a racing mind.

Hope you and your family have fun at your fete?? At least just all being together.I think i read you were all going to something like that this weekend. Take care EM and all 🙂

Hi all you happy crafty creatives!

I finished my bag!

Well, I still have an optional strap to do, and a tiny bit of handstitching in the lining, but it looks like a bag, fair dinkum! I'm a bit pleased cos I didn't have a pattern so it was a bit of a gamble. I still want to improve the design and do another, but this will be ok for job interviews. And so now of course I'm thinking about outfits.... Back to the drawing/designing board!

Isn't it interesting that MH issues are on the rise in a world where almost nothing is made by hand anymore...? I think our grandparents had somethings right, even if it wasn't the gender balance in parliament lol! Glad to have some things changed, but it's good to recognise how our way of life can change to embrace slow food, slow clothing, taking time out to be creative and productive in these lovely ways. Even Ham Solo's creations, as new fangled as they are, are really just a modern take on building model aeroplanes, aren't they Ham? Correct me if I'm wrong!

Cheers,

Hey golden

I think you're right about white. The floor is white tiles (darn it lol) and black would look too sudden and "heavy". So I think that's better than black.

Plus the look of white against timber is a more relaxing look, I totally agree!

Now to get rid of this awful green lol... in March.

Thanks so much golden. You hit the nail on the head lol.

Hey J* wow you did the bag without a PATTERN?? omg how clever are you!

You're right, I think, about the previous generations spending time crafting & slow cooking.
AND gardening lol! So many ppl back then had their own food growing. Kept animals as pets and for food.

We're so fortunate that ppl spent their time modelling this to us.

I still hold hope I can learn more than the simplest crochet stitches from online tutorials.
Crochet stumped me. I could knit Fair Isle and cables but couldn't crochet to speak of.

Still, I have my TWO projects to concentrate on and FINISH first lol.
I want to do those before being distracted, if I can hold myself back.

I ordered Silk wool from Japan years ago when my first grandchild was in the belly. I knitted him booties that felt wonderful. I made different sizes getting bigger for as he grew. They've come in handy for the others!

Better take darling chicken to bed now.

Hey golden

Oh yes we all went to the Carnival on the waterfront here this week lol. One child didn't want to go because he'd been with his friends already.

But I copped a side hit in the Dodgem cars when p.son was driving us... my chiro will have to fix that one lol.

A grandson won a breath powered Nerf thingy that Yvette loved so he won one for her too!

Alexa went on EVERY ride with the kids, the kids turned green before Alexa was finished lol.

The food there was great surprisingly, they've really upped their game in that dept.
We bought huge buckets of Fairy Floss for the kids and we got a huge discount too lol.

Thanks for asking golden, it was fun!

Well I cut material up for rags today lol, doesn't really count as sewing but I used my sewing scissors! lol.
Had to do low noise, low movement things today as I'm nursing our darling chicken with me.

Could anyone recommend model kit companies or similar? I am keen to get into it more but want to start at my level haha

Hi,

I'm not much help, sorry Ham..........

Finished my bag. Didn't like the handle. Replaced handle. Still not quite liking it. It is not the perfect bag!

Gathering my energy to try again.

Sigh!

I have to accept that in making something almost perfect, there will be prototypes!

Cheers,

J*

Hey BB Crafters! Long time lol...

So Spotlight had a massive sale on. It was delicious lol.

Amongst other necessary things, I bought some beautiful fabric to cover the seat of an Antique chair at our Antique desk AND to make some arm rest covers for the lounge to match.

It's shiny velvety TURQUOISE which will brighten up the drab brown lounge I'm not replacing for as long as possible lol.

If there's any left over, which there'll undoubtedly be, I'm not sure what to do with it.
Maybe just a narrow table runner for the dining room table?

Not sure.

So what's everyone else been Crafting?

Or what are you thinking of creating?

Winter is coming UP and I cannot WAIT to get some other Crafts out.
I'm so excited about it.

Hi all,

Hi Em, winter is such a good time for crafting hey! I guess it's that the cold weather means less time outside, running ppl around... today is rainy so it's one of those days for me, so yummy.

I spent last nite sewing up a new pair of pants, have been working on the pattern for a few days, using a basic block which I fitted to my body shape awhile ago. I'm very pleased with it- just what I wanted- apart from the fact that I must have put on a few kilo's since making this pattern up originally. No matter- I just watched the 'Embrace' doco, and it's all about loving my body! So there! A simple alteration to the waistband fixed the problem lol!

I now have all my possible fabrics out, to construct a series of pants, for my new job. Oh yeah, I got it!

Shall have to write on my thread.

Cheers all, and happy making,

J*

I am an artist. My dream is to get a studio in the middle of nowhere on a beach somewhere and just paint all day and then sell my work.
