My name is shelby im in year 7. I have severe depression and bpd... HELP. every day i feel opressed by my peers and religoius family. its because they dont understand how i really feel. Recently i have been questioning my identity and when i finally find one that i think suits me all im met with is slander. But it really feels like me i just dont get why they cant accept me. Ive always felt like im not a human but nobody gets what i mean. I have always felt like i was some kind of different animal, maybe in a past life, such as a goblin. I have tried joining my schools LGBTQ+ club but when i told them how i feel they all treated me as a joke and i no longer want to go there anymore. I feel so lost when nobody else understands the way i feel. All i want is to be able to find another person like me, who feels like a goblin. My dream in life is to be around other people who feel like me and... maybe make a goblin clan that would be great. Im sorry if everyone thinks im weird here i just dont know where else to go when every other place has shut me out... send me your suggestions as to how i can manage please

Hi Shelbygamer,
Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing your story. You are very brave and strong to have reached out and should be commended. I'm sorry you've been struggling lately with identity issues. No one here thinks you're weird at all. We fortunately have a very supportive community on these forums and I hope you can find some acceptance and a sense of community here. If you ever need a chat the phone lines and web chat here are available 24/7 (link here). As you might be aware kids helpline is also available 24/7 on 1800 55 1800.
It's been a long time since I was in year 7 but I remember it as a very difficult time. This is especially if you have depression and BPD. We often spend these years trying to figure out who we are and what we want to become. Unfortunately this can take time and effort but you have made great progress in coming here. One tip I found was to find something that I enjoy and try to meet friends through these activities. It could be sports, or any of the extracurricular activities at school, video games, reading...anything at all. It's a great way to socialise and have fun at the same time. Also, in terms of your schools LGBTQ+ club - I'm so sorry you felt treated like a joke. That is heartbreaking to hear. There are however other options available - headspace recently came out with a service, qheadspace, where young people who are gender and sexuality diverse can connect with others and seek support. They have regular webchats with rotating topics every week I think. https://headspace.org.au/online-and-phone-support/spaces/community/372936 . There is also another online organisation, queerspace, but I don't know too much about it unfortunately. https://www.queerspace.org.au/
Please update us on how you go. Like I said, I hope you find these forums helpful and remember you're not alone.
Bob
