Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out on here! I can only imagine the stress and confusion this situation has caused you, and it’s totally valid.
In my experience, whenever there was someone at high school who is rumoured to be doing terrible things in secret, it usually happened to be true. It’s definitely not a good sign if your friend has been involved in these scandals because they sound awful. Honestly, her moving to a different school doesn’t mean you have to stay friends. You might not anyway since like you said you are hours away from each other and have different schedules. I think it’s probably time to move on from the friendship then. Friendships sliding apart is common when you’re growing up and it happens naturally sometimes.
If she is not transferring, again, you don’t have to continue to be friends with someone you don’t trust. If you know you’re going to get into drama, then the best way to avoid it is to be around genuine people who are loyal friends and aren’t going to stir anything up. If you want to speak to her about where you stand in the friendship, that sounds good. If not, I think it’s ok to let things fizzle if you don’t want the friendship anymore.
Hope this helps. Good luck with everything and you are more than welcome to keep chatting here on the forums. All the best!
