Stroke with a soul

Not sure this is the right avenue and won`t know unless I have ago

Am aged in the mid 50`s and have had 2 strokes one in 2005 and one in 2009, each time having depression, anxiety and PTSD issues, that at the time didn`t realise I had. Means of communication with others in the same boat was unavailable and thoughts of leaving family members, is part of the reason I am still here. So this topic is to share and hopefully it will gain a soul.

Hey Hommer,

I'm sorry for your various experiences with poor mental and physical health! I understand especially the toll that mental illness can take having experienced severe depression and anxiety myself.

How is your health now, several years down the track?

Hope to read more from you.

Hi Ken1

At moment I still have, at different times highs and lows, but am more aware of what depression is, anxiety is a different kettle of fish and over the years have been on many different medications to combat it, but is hard sometimes to put your finger on the problem.

hi Hommer, I'm dreadfully sorry for you to have these two strokes, no one would ever want one to happen, but to have two is absolutely so terrible, I can't imagine the pain and suffering you must be experiencing, but I am pleased you have joined the site.
Sometimes depression and anxiety can be hidden away without you even knowing that you have it, and I say this because your life in general might not been the way you wanted it to be, so your thoughts could be that you are just having a very sad period, especially if you don't know a great deal about this illness, but now it has been made much more aware of,so people can identify it.
What I would like you to do is google K-10 it's a test on depression, plus also click on 'Get Support' at the top of the page and scroll down to 'Publications to download'which will give you an extensive list of all types of depression, or instead browse through the 'Facts', these will just help you to know a little bit more about how and why you feel this way. Geoff.

Hi geoff

Thanks for the information, at the moment I have things going on in my life that have been going on for many

years and am finally starting to make some headway. When I get some results, I will post again and maybe able to fill you in, for the time being this will be my last post for awhile. Have had a taste of mental health problems, but do not have to cope with them 24/7 as some do. Will educate myself with the information provided and would like to thank you very much. Ron
