Newly Diagnosed

Hey everyone.

I'm newly diagnosed with complex PTSD. I'm not even sure what to make of the diagnosis i feel to lost and out of place almost uncomfortable even. I struggle with BPD as well which alone messes with my emotions but this has really gotten under my skin and according to my psychiatrist is a lot worse than it used to be. I'm currently stuck in a domestic violence situation and we have nowhere to go to get away from the person harming me and my partner all because of our animals. We are so concerned because we know we need to get out before this escalates to the point one of us lands in emergency. HELP

Hi Xara,

We are so sorry to hear how lost you’re feeling at the moment after being diagnosed with complex PTSD. We recognise how overwhleming this time may be for you, especially while living in a violent household.  Please know we take reports of domestic violence seriously and are concerned about your wellbeing. We’ve asked our Support Service to check in with you via email to ensure that you and your partner are safe. We're here to support you as much as you need, and we’d urge you to continue to reach out for help.  If you are in immediate danger, please call 000.

If you are not in immediate danger, we'd suggest reaching out to 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732/ https://www.1800respect.org.au/ ) who offer counselling and support services for anyone experiencing violence and abuse.

Keep checking back in and let us know how you are going, whenever you feel up to it. You’re not alone in this.
