Hello, I am getting better , but have been through the mill . My credentials as a survivor of child hood sexual and physical abuse are there. As is my illness and many , many hospitalisations for mania over 30 years as a result .

I saw Psychiatrists for 13 years , a PTSD Psychologist for 2 years and have been with my current Psychologist for 7 years . So, I have put in the hard yards .

SO, I wanted to say - it is possible to become well - even I did .

Yes, I am on 80 , webster packed , tablets a week - BUT - people need to know - YOU can get better .

Dear Garry-1959~

I'd like to give you a warm welcome to the Forum and thank you for your message of hope. It is great to hear from someone who have been though multiple clinicians for a very complex set of conditions and are now living a good life

You only have a couple of years over me and I, like you, have trauma based conditions that are now under control, something I'd never have believed in the past. Psychiatrists have in the long term achieved their aims.

I guess the only two tihngs I'd like ot say is first the support of my partner has been a mainstay in my recovery over the years. I owe her a great debt, many would have walked.

The other is I'm jealous, I'd love to have Webster packs and not use my brain every time I take something:) My pharmacist will not do them as I get different medications from different pharmacies, creating a tangle I have to keep on top of myself.

Thank you for posting this, I really value hearing first hand recovery experiences.

I am yet to find anything that I could say would have considerably helped in making me well.

I’m curious to know out of all the work you have listed- which would have made the most positive impact?

Hi WishyBee,

Thanks for your reply!- I would have to say that ALL of the people I have seen and the Meds have helped me enormously in the long run . Also, I worked hard myself with all of these things , through the ups and downs . But maybe I was lucky in myself and those who helped me .

Thanks for letting me know
