Dear Strydz~

I'm probably a bit dense but I'm not sure exactly what you mean, do you think you could explain a bit more please?

Thanks

Hello Moderators & Happy New Year...

Just a few things which would be nice to see return:

  • The format that shows when a post was made was much better when it showed the date & time rather than the current "last month", "yesterday".
  • Having the number next to a person's name to show how many posts they have made to make it easier to identify newbies.
  • Being able to change our profile pic as we previously could.

Thank you

Paws

Hello forum management and thanks again for the thread topic!

Paw Prints mentioned '' Having the number next to a person's name to show how many posts they have made to make it easier to identify newbies'' We understand that forum management wish everyone on the forums to appear equal, thus the bizzare decision to scrap post counts.

Can a salaried Beyond Blue staff member  have the common courtesy to answer Paw Prints' post from over 3 weeks ago? Paws has been a providing high quality TLC & support across the forums for a long time. I posted in September 2023 and still no response

Common Courtesy is free guys...please make an attempt to fix this

thankyou for your attention

Thank you Paul for your support.

"We understand that forum management wish everyone on the forums to appear equal."

Whilst wanting everyone to appear equal is a lovely idea, we are dealing with the real world here. That is why in so many areas in the real world there are laws/schemes in place to provide "positive discrimination" so that those who might otherwise miss out are given a leg up or extra assistance. I feel being able to identify newbies enables those of us who do the replying the chance to provide that. I know that how people replied to me when I first joined the forums was different to how they do now, I needed that extra encouragement to keep posting & to learn how posting on the forums could & does help.

Dear Paws, with a wave to Paul~

I would agree that firstly a prompt reply from administration would have been the courteous thing to do, however do not take from that you are not valued. You are a quiet achiever here.

I also agree that post-count, a meaningful date format and a working avatar system are more than  desirable. If it was a question of a flick of a switch I'm sure they would all have been done already.  I am hoping at least one of those defects will be remedied in the near future.

As for identifying new members and offering appropriate support I guess all you can do at the  moment is the same as myself, which is firstly to look how long since they first posted and the quality and number of support underneath.

If in your judgment -which is now backed by experience - htey could use a little more encouragement or extra information then consider giveing that support yourself - provided you feel comfortable doing so of course..

Not perfect, but then what is:)

Hi blondguy,

We’re sorry it’s taken us so long to reply to you.

Thank you for your feedback. We really do appreciate it.

“All Discussions” is the page that’s most similar to the “New Posts” tab that was in the old forums. When you go to “All Discussions”, the discussions (threads) most recently created, or replied to, will appear at the top of this page. We do understand this isn’t as clear as it used to be and it’s something we are looking to improve.

We’re also aware there is some information that was in the old “New Posts” tab that does not appear on the new “All Discussions” page. The number of posts in the thread, who the last post in the discussion was by, and when the last post in the discussion was published.

You mentioned the post counts are gone. Are you referring to the number of posts in a discussion, like we mentioned above? Or the number of posts a member has made?

Transparency/consultation with the community is important, and our intention is to communicate and consult as much as we can. While I can’t comment on previous consultation as a relatively new Beyond Blue team member, I'm sorry to hear that was your experience.

Thanks again for your feedback. It doesn’t just stay in your post. We record it down in our own system so we can continue to reference it and track whether others have provided similar feedback. We’ve noted down your comments on new posts and the profile picture size.

Kind regards,

Hi spiralshapesun,

Thank you for your feedback.

Could you tell us more about why you’d like an app? What is it about an app that you like?

Hi quirkywords,

Thank you for your feedback.

By post count, do you mean a count showing the number of posts in a discussion, or a count showing the number of posts a member has made?

Kind regards,
