Hi all,

This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!

We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.

Kind regards,

Sophie M

Hi Strydz,

Thank you for your feedback.

Many members post on the forums in the evening, so we imagine there are others that would like a choice of a light/dark theme too.

Editing your own post is an interesting suggestion. How would use this function? Is it so you could correct spelling/grammar? So you could add more thoughts to your post? Or change existing thoughts in your post?

Kind regards,

Hi Paw Prints,

Thank you for your feedback.

Date and time format

We understand you’d like to always see the the date and time displayed and have noted this down. Currently, both absolute times and relative times appear in the new forums.

  • If a post or discussion is less than one month old, you’ll see relative times displayed, like “yesterday”.
  • If a post or discussion is more than one month old, you’ll see absolute times displayed, like ‎”15-02-2024 11:34 AM”.

When you see a relative time like “yesterday” within a discussion (thread), you can see the date and time by hovering over the “yesterday” text. We hope this helps a little.

New posters

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and personal experience. You're right, highlighting members who are new to posting makes it easier for others to provide extra support and encouragement. We've noted down your feedback on this so we can keep it in mind.

Changing profile pictures

Due to a technical issue this hasn't been possible, but we are working to fix this. We expect to have this functionality back soon!

Thanks again for your feedback Paws.

Kind regards,

Dear Rualite~

It would be a pity for you to move on when help is at hand. You have been a very long time poster and I hope the support you have gained and given has been an assistance.

While you have answered many your own two original posts are:

https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/welcome-and-orientation/long-time-no-post/td-p/23746

and

https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/treatments-health-professionals/coping-with-a-new-doctor-who-is-...

If in fact you want to talk to a particular person sing out and we will try to help until you get used to the new look and feel.

Yes to all the above, adding thoughts, correcting grammar.. or maybe just a delete option so it can be re-written?

Since the change the other day I now can't find any of the discussions I'm on unless I know the name of it and can enter it into the search button.  I then find I am taken to the very beginning of the discussion and have to scroll all through until I find the most recent posts.  I am finding it very difficult to find my way around now.

Hi Hanna3,

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble finding the discussions you're on since the recent Forums changes were made.

We saw in one of your other posts you mentioned that you used to go to the Settings page and go to the threads you followed from there. You can still do this, there is just one additional click.

On the Settings page, directly below the second (smaller) Settings heading you'll see "Avatars". To the right of this you'll see "Follows & Notifications". When you click "Follows & Notifications" you'll see the threads you're on.

Please let us know if we can help further.

Kind regards,
