Hello Quercus, it doesn't even tell you on the original thread who has just replied, so you have to click on the post to find out, hopeless, I dislike this, it's not what we wanted.

Geoff.

Thank you for your reply and help  QuirkyWords.  I just dont know why the forums had to be changed . They were so easy and good to use.  I know that they have been changed with the best intentions.  It has to be remembered that there are many people like me who find even the most basic computer skills a challenge.    I feel like of lost a valuable support that i had     Brett

Hi Geoff.   Hope your well.     Without the new threads section posts just pop up with there original date and i dont think it is very obvious that there are new posts. I think the start and date of any new post needs to show up. Also you dont seem to be able to post something on a thread without using the reply button on a message...  I love the interaction with others here and it scares e i might lose it....    Brett.

Hi Geoff

Hope you're doing well. I'm relieved as I thought it was just me not being able to locate the word count aspect. I can also relate to the disappointment everyone's experiencing in not being able to locate something that resembles 'My threads' and 'New threads'. I imagine this will be rectified in time, as these features were greatly relied on by so many and we're kind of lost without them at this point.

While everything appears crisp and clean, which is much appreciated (all that effort), simplicity and familiarity are things many of us still rely on, in order to easily navigate.

Hi moon, thank you I figured that out, but I can't find new posts, anything that comes up is years old and everything is in oldest to newest, I've requested newest to oldest but it has no effect. And where do newcomers post, I've looked in the welcome section but the entries are all old.

  • Me too. I did search for several friends..and the reply began with their posts from years and years ago. I didn't want that...I wanted recent ones...so I could reply or explain why I can't continue our conversation...very upsetting.

Hello all

Firstly a big thank you to beyond blue and our community representatives for their hard work and effort to update the forum. I love the relaxed and welcoming language and the option of new features. I feel very excited to be making my first post!

But if I’m going to be able to stay here and participate (which I want to do) I am going to need some help to learn how to use this platform. Unfortunately, the video and FAQs did not answer my questions.

I’m not tech savvy and none of this is intuitive to me, so please understand that my questions are coming from a low knowledge base. Here goes…

I want to continue conversations with people I was previously talking to, how do I now find those conversations?

I want to offer support to new posters to help ensure they are not left waiting, how do I find new posts?

To ensure I am putting my effort toward those people most in need, how do I know how many people have already responded to their new posts?

Lastly, I find the “private stats” page unsettling. Why is bb collecting and consolidating information in this way? Is our participation being measured and ranked behind the scenes in some way? For what purpose? Why would you be monitoring our IP addresses? It really feels like some kind of location monitoring that is an invasion of privacy. I’m sure what you’re doing complies with the Privacy Act and other legislation but I’m honestly telling you how it feels, particularly as there is no communication on the page to explain the purpose or who at bb is accessing this information and why.

Kind thoughts to you

Hi Beaser,

Just to clarify the 2014 posts -

For the first time, people are able to easily see what threads they've created and replies on their threads which we've never been able to do before.  So they're being revisited and then commented on.

Hi Geoff,

If you go to 'profile' (up the top) you'll be able to see Private Stats which are only visible to you, and then you can see how many topics you've started and how many replies you've made.
