Where is it? Do you have a special place? What can happen in a special place?
Well, anything can happen in a place of your choosing because like dreams can invent anything, so can your imagination, fantasy and hope. There should be no room for thoughts of- negativity, complaints, evil or other. Otherwise it wont be special.
Find the time, say 30 minutes minimum, no phone, no distractions. The best place is a rural paddock with the rare passing of a vehicle. Or a hill, small mountain. The bush, among the bracken. Alone and any animals come by its a bonus.
Sit, lie down, look at the sky. Feel the wonder. A good time for muscle tensioning exercises. All 7 sensors working - smell the eucalypt leaves, listen to the birds, touch the bark, taste the dew, focus on anything, feeeeeeellll........ It isnt a time for thinking, worrying, its a time for your mind to chill. You might be brought to tears- fine let your mind do its thing.
Some might want to listen to music. Background music like- instrumentals, titanic, Pachelbel (canon in D major my fav), Leo Rojas pan flute, etc.
Hoping you'll feel your depression ooze away, let me know your thoughts
Do you have a special place?

Dear TonyWK~
You are quite right and I'm glad you can detach yourself with the help of imagination, it is a most useful tool in one's life.
You inquired if others have special places too, well I have had one for very many years. It has its roots in my happy times as a child in a Welsh coastal town by a mountain.
I'm standing on a large alp on the side of a mountain. It is covered in green short-cropped turf with grey rocks protruding and there is sea on three sides. The sea is grey with whitecaps and blowing spume - merging with a grey sky on the horizon.
The wind blows hard and gusty, pushing me. A seagull whizzes past my head with wings half folded, mastering the wind.
There are several sheep, all still have their tails in the Welsh fashion, and are clustered in a group nearer the inner alp, tails towards the sea.
I look to sea, a dark squall of rain approaching, it hits and stings. The water is cold and streams down my face yet the rest of me is dry and snug in strong waterproof clothes and hood.
This not only reminds my of a happy era in my childhood but probably more importantly lets me remember that the world is vaster than I have been believing. My depression tries to build a small world around me, self-contained like the small world in the ship I can see in the distance. It is good to reflect on the fact there is so much more I can take part in. Depression in some ways is like the rain.
