Hello

I am wanting to know if anyone else feels just worthless. And what they did about that feeling that creeps inside of you.

Thanks

Hey Mary

I hope not either, I am heading back over to that thread now.

Morning Shelley,

With a real hug, I find that no words are needed, so it wont be a problem will it?

I actually just got back from doing a couple of hours at work.  I wanted to pay a few last minute invoices before the end of the month.  And send out a few invoices to make sure we have money coming in too.  (-:        Our financial year runs from 1 Jan through to 31 December.  So it was the last chance to put them all through before the new year.  Anyway thats all done now so I can stop fretting about it.

I think I know what you mean about having that radar signal you put out when in public.  I do something similar, when I feel ill at ease I put up a protective shield and have a look that must say 'do not approach'.  Its very hard to lower that barrier once its up.  For me its very much a safety thing, but there is also an element of just not wanting to do the meaningless small talk thing.  I have no patience nor talent for it I'm afraid.

I hope you are having an okay day Shell.  But here's a hug for today anyway, just in case you need it  {{  S  }}

Hi Sherie,

lm a kiwi. It's really hard for a kiwi to become a citizen now, I can't be naturalised, no benefits if I lose my job, no pension if I retire here and I can never vote. I pay tax though.

im sorry your injury causes you trouble, but you do sound like you have it somewhat under control?

Dont be too proud of me yet. Every day that it gets closer the more scared I get.

Hi CW.  I'm sorry you arent an Aussie!  I know another Kiwi and she told me how hard it was to become an Aussie these days.  Pretty rough having to pay tax though, but no pension or other benefits in return.  When you retire, are you entitled to get a Kiwi pension even if living in Australia?

Yes regarding my injury, I know how to manage it pretty well.  I guess I should do, as its been going on for 16 years.  But maybe once or twice a year it gets the better of me and lays me low for a few days to a week.

I'm still very proud of you  !!!!!!!!!!!!!    You'll get there now, I know you will.

Sherie xx

Hey Sherie  you are such a kind person, even when telling CW how proud you are of her. And she has taken a courageous step, for which we both knew how scared she was to take it.

And CW this quote came to my mind when I think of you.

"Courage is not the absence of fear.... but being able to act despite of it...."  not sure where I heard that one, but it seems to fit you just right....

Hugs to both of you.

Hi Shelley,

i wish I could take everyone in the flight with me to look after me!

telling me I will be ok is reassuring, thank you for remembering that. I did eat at the BBQ which I was good.

I don't have many friends either, but the people we were with last night are very nice.

I hope you're having a good day. It's looking warm everywhere today! Do you stay up and toast the newyear?

I am not sure if we are staying up or not, but most probably, because sometimes I don't sleep well, and I am up at that time anyway. For the last few years, we have driven into a nearby shopping centre. We have parked in the car park on the roof. We can watch some fireworks from there, which are usually let off down near the river. It is less crowded on the roof, hardly anyone there. No hustle and bustle.

Do you do anything?

Hey Shelley, I love that quote about courage.  Its so true, and thats CW through and through.  CW, I would gladly go with you to the UK to give reassurance and encouragement.  But you truly wont need it, you'll be fine.

Are you heading to the car park roof to watch the fireworks?  No hustle and bustle sounds good.  We went to our local tavern for raffles, karaoke and bistro dinner.  It was okay being pretty quiet this year.  We were back home before 9pm thankfully.  Its now just after 11.30pm, and I'm thinking that I wont last until midnight, as I'm pretty tired.  So I think I'll head off to bed now.  Hubby has already gone, worn out after a hard day on the golf course.  Another reason we got home so early.  Whew!!  Lucky me.

Okay bed time for me.  So a happy new year to everyone, even if I'm 20 minutes early.

Singing .....................  Auld Lang Syne

Do you know the history of that song?  It is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional folk song. It is well known in many countries, especially in the English-speaking world, its traditional use being to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight.

There you go, a bit of history to see the year out.

Welcome to the year of 2016...............

I am just about to go to bed, but I am still sitting here on my chair. My mind is trying to reason why our paths have crossed in this journey that we are all on. The journey of life. I know there is a significant reason that we have met. I don't know the exact reason, but I know it to be of some importance.

And I want to say a huge thankyou to everyone here that I have crossed paths with. You have been a blessing to me in my life.

With many hugs

Shelley xx

Hey Sherie, it is 1:19 am 2016, I have not gone to bed as yet.

Yes we drove on over to the car park roof, and watched the fireworks from there. Later on..... my son and I went to our driveway, once there, we lit some sparklers. I have always liked holding on to them and watching the tiny little stars sort of crackle. My son enjoys making and letting off sparkler bombs. So we watched one of his creations. But overall it was pretty quiet.....

I didn't know the history of that song, but I do remember it was sung at my nanna and granddads home when I was little.

Gosh I'm still not tired, my mind is just thinking so much.Best try and get some rest though.

Hugs to you

Shelley xx
