Hello
I am wanting to know if anyone else feels just worthless. And what they did about that feeling that creeps inside of you.
Thanks

Hey Sherie, that is interesting about the OCD, you must see life very different to me. I don't know much at all about what life is like for people who live with this. So is it like you just close your eyes and you see these brick patterns, like form into walls?
I do a lot of thinking in my brain, but it seems to be mostly about relating to others or something like that.
Hope you did have a good day today.

Hey Hunting happiness
Your posts seem to just pop up, this one is one that I have not seen before.
I can relate to doings things for other people. For me it helps take your eyes of yourself, and how you are feeling and on to the other person, you are giving them blessings and making their life more richer. Good on you for doing this.
Yes I put feed out for the birds too, I put seeds out, they seem to enjoy them as well.
And that is beautiful what you did for your sister......
Many hugs,
Shelley xx

Hi Shell,
How're you today? Well I hope.
Regarding how my OCD brain works - No its not when I close my eyes. The more annoying thing is when I cant sleep and for example I check the time and see it progressing only half an hour every time I check. But the problem is that my mind starts playing games with me. Like I feel as though something really bad is going to happen if the numbers on the digital clock arent the right numbers. It has to read whole numbers or blocks of 5, that sort of thing. And if the right numbers or combination of numbers, then I have to find other ways to make the numbers acceptable. So I start adding, multiplying, square root, all sorts of calculations to make them right, otherwise these horrible things are going to happen. And as I still cant sleep and it starts to get light then I start on the bricks, the venetian blinds, anything thats around. And I count them, I make different patterns out of them in my mind, I measure them in my mind and make different things with them.
Its all a distraction thing I'm told. It came about after I developed ptsd 19 years or more ago. All an attempt to keep all those other intrusive thoughts away I guess. But it can be very exhausting. And today I'm feeling it...

Hi Shelley,
I looked up into the tree and I could see there was nothing in it so didn't get up the ladder.
We did go for a swim, it's going to be 40 today and 37 tomorrow so I think more swimming will be in order.
im currently sitting on the couch working up the nerve to book my trip to the uk. Everything is in place, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Hey CW
This trip to the UK is it to see your dear mother? I cannot remember if you said she lived there. I know she is sick and I am aware she lives some distance from you.
If it is your mum you are going to see......I was wondering if you could just close your eyes, as you sitting on the couch. And remember your dear mum, think about how much you love her, and how much she probably would want to see you in person. And then allow this love, because love is more powerful then fear to drive you or motivate you to book the trip.
You will be OK, you will be OK...
With hugs to you

Thanks for your messages of support CW and Shelley. Sweet of you, and I do appreciate it.
Strategies on a bad day? Basically to try to get some rest and get my mind distracted by something more constructive than ridiculous mind games. I just read my own post now, and I realise how totally stupid it must sound to you all. I hope you dont think I'm completely crazy?
We had a nice omelette breakfast this morning and I'm about to make up a fruit salad and we'll have that with yoghurt for lunch. Then I'm going to lie down and have a sleep, I hope, during the lunch break of the cricket.
CW it sounds like WA weather is back to normal with the high 30's and into 40C temps. Was just talking to my brother in law who lives in Northam (smallish town inland from Perth for anyone who doesnt know where that is) and he was saying how hot it had become again. The cooler temps for Christmas was only a very temporary respite from the heat. Its warming up again here too. Please give your little dog (what was his name?) a rub on his tummy from me, and your bigger dog (Harley I think?) a good pat too. Holly caught a rabbit this morning, and she was very pleased with herself. I was too I must admit. Such a brave little girl, as the rabbit was a decent size. CW, I hope you are able to work up the courage to go and book your UK trip .........
Shelley, I see that you have just progressed to Veterans Club member for over 500 posts. I nearly didnt recognise your icon thing, it looks totally different with the different coloured symbol on it. Hooray for you. So much comfort you have given others with your empathy and desire to understand others problems. I hope you get back as much as you give.
I'm off, catch you later hopefully.
