Worthless

Hello

I am wanting to know if anyone else feels just worthless. And what they did about that feeling that creeps inside of you.

Thanks

Hi there Hunting Happiness.  Great name by the way..   And nice to see you here on Shelley's fabulous thread.

Everything you have said in your post about Shelley Anne is so very true.  So hear hear ..........

Shelley Anne is the polar opposite of Worthless.  I find her words of comfort and wisdom to be absolute gems, and I love her honesty and compassion for others.

So cheers to Shelley, but also to the other regulars here - Kazzl, Chicken Wings, Shaun The Sheep.  I know you have all helped me so much, just by being there, listening and providing moral support.  Its also nice that we have had few extras come in recently too.  You are no doubt attracted by the great people here.   ( :

Hi HuntingHappiness and welcome to the thread.

the whole notion of purpose is a huge one. Personally I find it difficult to know what my purpose is. You try and make positive contributions and have passions that give you a sense of achievement, but it's sometimes easier said than done.

It's easy to get caught up in work and "getting things done".

Today is my first day of holidays and I'm feeling a bit nervous about it because I wake up in the morning and am not sure what to do to get away from my thoughts. I want to do things and be productive, but what are those things?

Star Wars was pretty good Kazzl, I won't give anything away. But we enjoyed it you should see it.

Wayne my dogs love those straps too. Does Lucy get to go to lunch too? I've bought my dogs a gift each. The bigger one doesn't quite get that you have to unwrap things so just runs off what a wrapped ball or something. The smaller one loves unwrapping stuff. Loves ripping the paper.

I hope everyone else is doing well today.

Hi there CW.  First day of holidays - yay !!!!!!!!!!!!   Glad you enjoyed Star Wars, its had great wraps.  My husband and I were intending to see latest James Bond movie a few weeks ago when it was on, but we never got there. Have to wait until it comes onto Foxtel now.  Actually there are a few movies I like the sound of out now, so we should get off our backside and go.  I cant recall the last time we went to the movies, probably over 5 years.

Holly loves the Strapz treat thingys too.  I always give a little treat when I have to go away and leave her at home on her own.  She's very good though, and I think just sleeps on our bed watching for us to return when we are both away. And then goes berserk when we get home.  Which is so cute.

Tomorrow is, besides Christmas Day of course, Holly's 7th birthday.  So she usually gets a special treat for Christmas/Birthday combined.  We are having Christmas lunch with our neighbours (walking distance) this year, and Holly is invited.  They have a little dog too who she gets along well with.  So yes, Holly is coming to lunch with us.  Our contribution is the seafood, so I managed to get enough prawns and oysters at the shops. But they were both in short supply and much more expensive than usual.  Oh well, its only one day of the year!

Hello to all on the thread.  Hope your day is going well?

Well happy birthday Holly! We normally include the dogs at Christmas but this year were going to a house with 2 puppies. Them plus our 2 is too much! But they'll have a special breakfast and their new toys.

We try and go to see certain movies in the cinema, just for the big screen. It's nice to spoil yourself every now and then.

im feeling weird again this afternoon. Had very little anxiety this morning, although I did shed a little tear watching morning tv when a story came on. But just can't switch my brain off.

Hello to all my friends,

I hope you've all had a nice Christmas so far?

I have, but I havent.  Its been really difficult.  Hubby and I have spent Christmas on our own this year, but had lunch with our neighbours who my husband has known for about 45 years.  Which was nice.  Last year we spend christmas with my family who live 7 hours drive away, and we stayed with my brother and his young family.  It was only 3 months ago however that my 11 year old niece died in a freak car accident which also severely injured my brother.  He is recovering slowly.  Today I rang and spoke to my brother, his wife and their 2 teenaged sons.  Dealing with the death of a young person is so very hard.  And since talking to them all I seem to be breaking into tears all day.  It is very distressing, we are meant to be happy on Christmas day, and it seems that I am constantly in tears thinking of her.  We were always quite close and spoke on the phone at least every week when she was alive.  I know it will get easier with time, but I just dont know how my brother and his wife can cope, when I am having such difficulty.  I mean I was only her auntie!  I just feel so damned useless, and dont know how I can help them.  I mean what use am I when I am talking to her mum and cant even speak because I was so choked up with tears that I couldnt even say good bye?  I really thought I had gotten over the worst of this, but it seems I havent.

I hope the rest of you have had a better day than what I've done?

Dear Sherie,

I have been thinking of you today. No words will be able to help you or your brother and his family in these hard times. I cannot say when things will get better or what you can say to your brother, but I want you to know that I am thinking of you.

Big hugs, Yggy x

Hello Sherie

I just want to wrap my arms around you, and hold you. I'm so so sorry.

With love

Shelley xxx

Thanks Yggy and Shelley Anne,

Of course you are right, no words can heal their pain.  I mean, I try to speak words of comfort to them all, but unfortunately all it seems to do is make me cry.  And I'm sure that doesnt help them!  It is just so unfair.  I will be really pleased when 2015 is finished, as its been a really tough year for me all round.

But I really appreciate your thoughts and hugs ladies.......  Silly, but it helps.  Even though it does bring on the tears again.

On a happier note - it was my little dog Holly's 7th birthday today.  And she was very happy, as she got to chase a hare in our back yard.  She wasnt quick enough, but she enjoyed the chase.

Thanks for taking the time to respond on Christmas day.

Ahh, good news Kaz.  I will finish a late breakfast this morning and maybe pop in for a 'cuppa' a little later.  Happy boxing day to you too.
