Hi jesse6969,

Thanks for your post. You are absolutely allowed to tell the doctor your true feelings and that you are there for a referral to a psychologist. They should be able to recommend some in the area. If not, you can google search professionals in your area and ask for a referral for the one you like the most. I'm sorry that you feel alone and worthless. It is common to feel this way even if superficially everything seems to be going well. The best way to get through things, like you suggested, is to see your GP and go from there. Also keep us in the loop or if anything comes up. Here is another handy link too: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support

Hope this helps,

Bob

Hello Jesse6969

When you speak to your GP, you might not have enough time to go into any detail, so I would suggest saying that you have seen someone previously for anger issues & relationship issues, & you feel you need to see someone again. Ask the GP how they can help?

Would you like a Mental Health Care Plan? (If you don't know what that is, ask the GP about it, because that might be an option for you).

As Bob_22 said, you can do some research yourself & then see your GP with a name of a Psychologist or Psychiatrist of your choice. I'd recommend The Australia Psychological Association to search for psychologists, & the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) to search for Psychiatrists, These people usually have areas of interest, so look for those with an interest in the areas of anger management & relationship difficulties.

I hope that helps
