Hi, I am new to beyond blue.
I am a high school student who has been diagnosed with anxiety and am showing symptoms of depression. I need help, but I am too scared to ask. School is getting harder and I am doing worse. What should I do?
Thanks

hi and welcome to beyond blue forums.
Sometimes anxiety and depressions can be bed buddies and that sucks. And being in high school can be stressful.
You mentioned having been diagnosed with anxiety.
I can tell you all about what happened to me during high school as well as other people I hung around with. Or situations my children had to deal with. It depends on situation. I hope you dont mind if I ask what part you are scared to ask for help with your anxiety? And what tools do you have to manage your anxiety?
The people here are all supportive and non-judgemental so I hope you feel you would be comfortable with chatting here. Other possibilities would be to chat with the folks at Kids helpline at https://kidshelpline.com.au/ which has lots of resources and chat facilities etc that you can access to help you out.
Chatting here is a good start. I hope you might come back to tell more of your story.

Hi 400MRUNNER,
Thank you for your post and I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling so much. I'm glad Smallwolf jumped in to help and offer some support too.
I promise you that you aren't alone in experiencing anxiety and depression, even though it can feel so incredibly lonely. Even without knowing you, there will be people around you struggling with these things too.
It can be terrifying to ask for help, do you have someone in mind you feel like you could ask if you did feel like you had the courage? Often high schools have counsellors/psychologists so that could be a good start, or even like a teacher or a teachers aide. Maybe thinking about someone you could tell might be a good step, even if telling them feels a bit scary at the moment.
