Hi there,

just introducing myself my name is Morry and I’m 45. Have had depression and anxiety hanging around for as long as I can remember. I take a dive from time to time and the Low Low lasts for years. I’m managing my illness and working within my limits. I just wanted to join a place that may understand my queries and struggles. Hi again would love to hear from anyone . Cheers, Morry

thankyou for the welcome and support πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hi Tim,

thanx for the welcome and questions.

i felt the need to connect yesterday as I do it alone except for a friend who is a paraplegic from an accident. He has dark times and he and myself have a great openness in conversation. To answer for second question I may post it one time because it is complex yet I’ll attempt to articulate a short version. I have been on around 6 antidepressants In a 4 year period as they would stop working in various ways and time frames. This last one keeps the thoughts to a manageable level with some effort and the depression at a functional albeit like walking in a pool feel. Yet the numb brain is a pain the anhedonia lack of feeling isn’t as bad yet I’m wondering again if I see if I can change meds again and go through all that or just manage as I am functioning, I am holding down a full time job with understanding bosses for which I’m beyond grateful. So yeah dunno if I’ve already answered my question yet .... Cheers Morry

Thanx for the welcome everyone THANKYOU

Hi Morry

Thanks heaps for posting back and being a part of the forum family πŸ™‚ I am sorry about your friend and his accident. I hope that he is also doing okay

Just so we can provide more effective support can I ask how often you had counseling/help during the difficult time of being on 6 AD's in four years?

I understand your pain as I have been on a AD...SSRI....for 23 years which is a long time yet it was never a fix all...Just for me it provided a strong foundation that I could heal combined with ongoing regular counseling

Everyone's situation is different of course. There is no judgement on the forums Morry....just a friendly place for us to post πŸ™‚

I hope you are doing reasonably okay

you are not alone

Paul
