Hi im a 25 year old male that was admitted 4 months ago to hospital for a Psychotic Depressive episode.
Was wondering how long this takes to go away? I'm sick of trying to figure out whats happening and find my behaviour erratic and temper tantrums explosive. Feels like im on a rocky boat stuck in a monstrous whirlwind somewhere. My life is a mess

Hi there L&C
Welcome to Beyond Blue and thank you for coming here and providing your post.
With regard to the admission for your episode, which was 4 months ago … whilst in, were you given some guidance, or helpful mechanisms to implement into your life to assist with how you’re feeling? Did you feel they worked and through this last 4 months, do you think your symptoms have returned, or possibly got worse?
What supports do you have available to you at this time? Seeing your GP or a counselling professional, as two immediate suggestions I can make.
If we can perhaps find out a little bit more about your condition and background, it will help with others to come along and be better advised to assist you.
Kind regards
Neil

The question you have asked is one which is so hard to even begin to give you any period of time for us to even predict,
I wish that we could but everyone is different, your lifestyles, how many people that CAN help you and how much support
you are able to get from your psych, and if only one of these supports people, such as, your psych is able to help more
than the others then that's a bonus for your recovery and can make an enormous difference.
As there are so many types of depression, then no one can help you if they focus on believing that you have 'social
anxiety' when in actual fact you have Bipolar Depression, simply because the medication and treatment will be useless.
So you need to get a diagnosis from your doctor, and if you still unsure about having this type of depression then seek
another opinion.
Hope to hear back from you. Geoff.

It feels like im living life as a fragment of who i used to be, who i want to be, and who i am now.
I have no anchor point in my life. I get confused easily, i often wonder what i am doing on this planet.
I was admitted to hospital.
Early childhood trauma came out i was basically abandoned for the first 4 years of my life. I was so alone.
