Hi rust255,
Welcome, I see you have been a member for a while now, so glad you decided to reach out to us.
I'm sorry to hear you are having symptoms again after all this time, it's not easy to deal with something again that you thought you had beaten.
From the sounds, it seems you were only partially healed from the incident and some of the trauma is still trapped and rising to the surface again. This is your mind and body asking you to finish what you started.
There is a therapy known as Somatic Therapy which I think you could greatly benefit from. This is not only talk therapy, it goes further to work on processing and releasing the trauma that is trapped in the body. There are a number of ways this can be done, it just depends on which one that works best for you. Some of the types of Somatic Therapy are:
Somatic Experiencing
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) also known as tapping
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
Can I suggest you have a look at some of these and perhaps look for a Somatic Therapist to work with. If there is not one nearby, there are some that do online appointments through Zoom (or similar). Many that do this type of therapy are also called Soul Based Therapists or Soul Centered Therapists.
I hope this helps and please feel free to continue the conversation if you wish.
Take good care of yourself,
indigo
