I miss when I used to be happy. I knew exactly what I wanted to be, I had a path of getting there, and I was happy doing it. Recently though, my motivation has seemingly hit a wall, and so too has my mood. I don’t get out of bed as easily as I used to, I don’t exercise as often, even my favourite hobbies have turned stale, despite loving them for years. And I don’t have anyone to find comfort in, as my parents still have this ideal version for me stuck in their head, my friends are jerks, so now here I am. Despite having such a good streak of luck in life, I have never felt so alone.

Hi, welcome

It does sound like you need a new group of friends. A sport whereby there is a group formed that spends time away together in a social setting is the way to go.

Motivation wont be effective when you are depressed. I have a link below for that topic.

Sleep, sound sleep is essential. See the thread below.

As for your parents they are thinking of your best interests but you might have to remind them that they had their own decisions when they were your age and this is your time and your decisions.

Hobbies come and go. You might need to find another. Maybe join a hiking group that walk the hills and camp overnight?

I hope that helps. Reply anytime

Hi, you have pretty much described exactly what I’m going through currently. I too had a good run in life. Worked relentlessly with a view to the future but things changed. I’m questioning what was the point of all the effort and stress over the years. I have no clue about where I’m headed and feel alone too. I’m working on regaining structure and routine each day. I hope things turn around for you.
