Hi,
its been raining for the last few days in Brisbane here. I feel that my mood also swings which acts like the weather - extremely restless and depressing. On those sunny days my mood seems to be better!
Does anyone feel the same or just me ??

Hey Suet,
Bad weather can indeed have a negative effect on your emotions. When it is cold, rainy, gloomy and unpleasant outside many more people are susceptible to feeling down or not as enthusiastic. Personally, I love the rain and overcast days but there is absolutely merit in what your proposing/questioning. When it is sunny, we generally feel much better and exposure to the sun and vitamin D are super beneficial to our emotional well-being.
Here's to better weather!
Have a great week!
Nick!

Hi Seut
Yeah you're not the only one that gets that! I think it might be because you might be used to the warmer weather as well. I'm from WA not Brisbane, still we do get a lot of sunny days over here. If it gets all rainy and cloudy- blocking out the sun- I do tend to feel more depressed in a strange way. Maybe you miss the sun? Overcast days make everything look more washed out and grey- it could be a bit of that as well.
At least it is temporary, Summer is coming up soon 😄 I hope you feel sunnier soon

Thanks for your replies, Nick and Spl. So the weather does affect our emotions.
Luckily i went to see my psychologist this afternoon. She gave me some coping strategies which lifted up my mood a little.
Yes I do miss the sunshine a bit and most importantly I do need some vit D.

Hi Suet Suet
The weather definitely affects my emotions. I'm in Brisbane too and while I know that the rain is needed out west. I've just about had all the rain I can take for awhile. I want to see some sunshine please 🙂 Sure it will happen - it's forecast for Wednesday. So here's hoping.
BTW, did you know that in the tropics there is a term for the build up of wet weather? It's called mango madness, or the silly season. There's been a lot of research into the affects of weather on the human psyche. If you're interested you could find some good research papers by doing a google search.
Kind regards

Hi Suet suet
The term Mango Madness has been around the tropics for sometime. LOL, hope you did some good reading at work.
The sky is shining today - for little bits anyway, then gets overcast. But I'm feeling quite a bit better today. The last few days have been very hard.
Yes, my view is the weather has a lot to answer in terms of moods. Certainly affects me big time. Having said that, I do like the changes in weather though. It would get incredibly boring if it stayed the same. Also, who would you please? There are some who like to cold, others like it hot.... LOL, can't please everyone all the time. So it's good it's spread out through the year.
Kind regards
PamelaR

Rose toez,
Did you go out and feel the wind? I don’t like when it’s suoer windy like blowing away things!
It’s beautiful crispy sunny day in Brisbane today. I went to bush walk this morning for an hr. It was a bit cold in the morning! It’s just me when i run my body is boiling and I love the chill wind because it cools down my body temp a bit! I found that exercise can be as therapeutic as medication!
I take a day off today enjoying my foods!
