Hi Anononono and welcome to the BB forums.
As we are peers like yourself we can not diagnose or let you know if you have depression or just anger issues. But being depressed (and possibly anxious) can cause someone to be a bit short with people that can be interpreted as anger.
For more information on depression I would look on the beyond blue website, copy and paste the link besides: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/depression . There they have what the signs and symptoms are as well as a questionnaire you can do online
Remember mental health (including depression and anxiety) will affect one in four people at some point of their lives. It is also shown only 20% open up and get help. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. I suggest having a GP with your GP regarding your moods and possible anger. I wish I talked to my doctor sooner. It was probably one of the best things I did for myself

I don't know if anger, depression or both but do know you're showing a lot of self control in difficult circumstances by not lashing out when you want to. That takes a lot of discipline so well done.
Shyness although I'm not but have been in some situations is very hard and self consciousness comes with it? which also is hard.
Do you like yourself? That can help no end with confidence & by looking at your good points which majority of us have is a way of achieving it. I'm not old but older and just realising it's true what they say, we do need to like ourselves for self preservation, we spend our entire being with one person...ourselves so makes sense
There'd be an underlying reason I imagine for the temper, tricky bit is figuring out what it is.
Is there pain or frustration in your life mentally (wondering if the shyness could be causing anger or do you have any physical pain that could cause it.
Are people in your life good to you?
I'll keep an eye out to see how you're going 🙂
Hope you feel comfy to open up more, this is a great site, safe non judgemental place to let it rip.
The moderators have untold posts to read so don't worry if it may take time for replies
Hope you get some answers to help 🙂

Hi Anononono,
Firstly, welcome to the forums.
As MsPurple said in her great response, it is hard to say if it is anger or depression, as we are just mental health sufferers, we can only use our experiences in general advice. Speaking to your GP really is a great first step to better understand your moods and feelings.
You always want to be in control of your feelings so doing whatever you can to help is great and that is why we suggest speaking to your GP.
Please also know you can call the Beyond Blue helpline on 1300 22 4636 24/7 to discuss anything you are feeling.
My best for you,
Jay
