The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi Psychdiaries,
You are in luck. We have the biggest jukebox of all time, past present & future, so you are free to listen, sing & dance to whatever your favourite music is. No coins necessary, no searching through billions upon billions of tracks, just let your imagination take control!
Imagine: huge dance floor, mirror ball, spinning lights, & because it's all a daydream, you can have the music louder than my neighbours, which may take some effort ... whoa they have it loud!
I generally don't, not just because it's not good for the ears, but because I can't sing that loud. Listen, I'll try ... "MeEeEoOoOw"
Yes, piercing, but not so loud. My purring is a different matter. It's like a machine producing low, low bass, thrumming with infra sounds rumbling right through the bones, shaking them up until they feel loose.
& my dancing ... I can leap & jump, twist & roll & land on my feet, like any other cat can. Indeed, that's my favourite dance - 'The Catcan".
Hmmmm, time for 🥛 my milk.
Hugzies,

Hello Wolfie, so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I'll turn down the music so you can get some rest. & I will get some old-fashioned, traditional chicken soup, with dumplings cooking on the stove, too. Nah, not that instant stuff - this soup takes time and a great deal of care to prepare. Just let me know if there is anything you would particularly like me to NOT put in the pot.
Yeah, just let us know if there is anything we can do to help you feel better.
(Nice, gentle) Hugzies,

Hello everyone,
Who's doing their Census tonight? I have because it dawned on me how little time we have to get it done without waiting for Tuesday night.
Now, I'm just the one of me in my home, & I found it was a little difficult to complete it all correctly, not least because I use a text-to-speech reader software & navigating using my keyboard. So I can imagine it's quite difficult if you have several people at home or wherever you are Tuesday night.
Here I am now, wanting to relax & unwind a bit, with a hot chocolate with my famous mmMarshmallows & mmMellow mmMusic - something soft & rhythmic like purring waves... that's nice ...
How you doing Wolfie? I hope you are feeling better.
Hugzies,

Hey all, it's taken me a while today, just finding a very basic recipe for a cake I want to make. I remember the cake we'd made at school. It was a bit heavy, but I enjoyed it. It was so simple, with the basic ingredients of butter, flour, eggs & a little milk, Maybe we added a 'pinch' of salt. Maybe even vanilla - but I doubt that. My memory has no mention of it.
I remember having to measure out my ingredients the night before, so they were ready to take to school. & most vividly recall 'creaming' the butter & castor sugar.
Anyway, eventually I found a recipe I could adapt down to a single cake. & it had no corn flour, like I saw in several recipes.
So, after lunch, cleaning up from that, I went on to make my cake.
I don't recall how much I had to mix the sugar & butter, & how my arms worked! I also forgot I would have liked to sift the flour, too.... & my mixture seemed rather too thick to "pour into your baking tray". I had toadd a little more milk, then I spooned it into muffin cups. I got some of the silicon ones.
They have turned out pretty good. I'd like to share them with whatever you'd like to have with them.
Me, very messy, so I had some very crunchy bits to enjoy with mine.
I'll have some to have during my week of the 'special diet' (preparation for a couple medical procedures next week). I have to avoid so many of the foods I'd rather have as part of my healthy eating plan. For this week, starting tomorrow, I have to eat kind of opposite to that. Lucky there are still some foods I like in this week's meals.
When I can, I will make this recipe again, with wholemeal flour, & some other flavours & additions like nuts & seeds, maybe even fruit bits, though not too much. Firstly, I'd like to add banana. If I'd been certain about today's cake making, I'd have put some in today. Ripe bananas are allowed. s

Hello again, everybody.
It sure feels like Spring has landed in SEQld (at least), so I thought I'd bring in some new flowers to plant in the garden. I've always had a soft spot for Marigolds, & Catnit, of-course. We'll shall be needing the catnip, I hope, when you taste my new invention - Capnipiccino. It's a gorgeous green & really gives you a boost without the caffeine.
Pretty soon, we'll all be feeling full of energy & doing competitive zoomies around the BB Cafe. For an extra challenge, try tying a kite to a part of your person (as usual, I'm tying my kite to my tail),& let's see how well we can do zoomies without getting our kite strings entangled.
Would anyone else like to say what flowers we can add to the garden?
Or any other suggestions for outdoor games, as our planet rolls into Spring?
Hugzies everyone,

Ah yes, another warm day, across more parts of Australia than I understood yesterday. Unfortunately, it does not look like lasting so long before temperatures drop back to autumn mil, or maybe snow with lots of wind in places, I gather. d.
Today, I made some mmMuffins anyway, because i realised I would feel disappointed in myself if I did not do this as planned. These have fruit, macadamia pieces, seeds, cinnamon&, too. This time I used some wholemeal flour & some of the white sel-raising flour I bought recently. Now I have the white flour, I will use it - I'm not going to simply dump it & only use the wholemeal self-raising flour I had already. It's a compromise, which I think will not be of any concern.
Happy to share - maybe with a thick, honey yoghurt.
I like irises, too....
Hugzies everyone,
mmMekitty

Hey there,
Your muffins sound lovely and perfect for the start of spring! I love fruit and cinnamon in muffins, especially when they're warm from the oven. I hope to bake some soon too. I always bake lemon and poppy seed muffins this time of year and look forward to them again.
Enjoy the treat,

Happy Spring, Psychdiaries,
Good to see you here today.
I'm sure we have a lemon tree in the mixed fruit tree orchard beside the BB Cafe. Lemon & Poppy Seed Muffins sound wonderful.
Just the other day, I was enjoying a little lightly lemon flavoured cake. It was a little lighter than muffins, but I thought the flavour made it taste so fresh.
I'd like to make savoury mmMuffins, with cheese, herb & bacon. That's on my mind. I'm just not sure how to ensure they still have a very cheesy flavour. I've added cheese to omelettes & pancakes, but somehow the cheese seems to have gone missing during the cooking.
I have learned, only put cheese in omelettes just seconds before you fold it over & serve.
I'm putting in some gloriously large Dahlias in our BB Cafe's gargden - pretty much every colour of the rainbow.

Hello & how is everyone? I trust you are looking after yourselves as best you can.
I don't know what the weather is doing - except I've just seen the moon again. It's been a couple years since I've spotted it, so I hope that really was the moon ... so looks like the rain has held off here, but it is a trifle cool, enough to have me wanting my gloves again.
I have brought in some jelly I made with blue, berry flavoured jelly crystals & some cherry juice, which is somewhat sour to taste. I figured it really needs to be sweetened, & I wanted to experiment with mixing it into a little water & heating it to boiling so I could dissolve the jelly crystals. It's rather wonderful, if I do say so myself.
I have also been compiling a list on YouTube of upbeat, mostly happy, uplifting sort of songs, songs with a strong beat, for exercising to.So many songs! there is really so much good music out there, I think my list isn't done, yet, though it is almost 100 songs now, almost 5 hours worth of exercise music... no, I'm not exercising
I had a hard workout with the exercise group today. The Friday group has been cancelled for a couple weeks, so I went back to the Tuesday group last week & today. An exercise physiologist takes us through a series of exercises - three rounds today, making us really work & (for me). to also think it was worth the extra money the Tuesday group costs. I'm sore tonight & expect to be sore tomorrow.
for nearly 5 hours at a time! I'll scramble it up each time, so, I can't predict exactly which song will be next.
I took it to the group today, & they connected my phone to their stereo so everyone had a listen while we exercised. My music isn't quite to the younger people's taste. They want more 'doof-doof' music. I have a couple, but it's not really my thing.
