You don' give me very many clues to the problem geoff. are the leaves browning, trunk splitting, is it just wilting. Could be over watering, bug infestation, lack of fertilizer. Over pruning, under pruning. not sure what it could be

hi Kanga, thanks so much Paul, I have done what I have always done to my palms for over 30 years, and I did pay attention to them even when I was in that black hole, they would last for years, but now in a new place facing the same direction I don't have any luck.

The leaves on the palm die and then another leaf goes brown and then hits the dust, I feed them not too often and spray the leaves to make it a humid atmosphere and only water when they are dry, I have now bought an artificial tree, I dislike them and it's disappointing, maybe I am doing something wrong. Geoff.

All I am getting stumps me. You seem to be doing everything right. Unless there is some bug infestation, that's all I can think of.

Hey Kanga/Geoff

Kanga....what do you think about gas heating and Geoff's palms?

I know that I have destroyed many plants with gas heating...

hmmm

Only if he has the plants very close to the heater. like on top of it or right in front of it.

may the fourth be with you

thanks Paul, but I only have electricity and don't have gas, unfortunately. Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

You mentioned that you're doing what you've always done (and they were fine before) and the palms are now dying since they've moved.

What do you think about the change in water? Do you use tap water? Some palms are sensitive to the level of salt or other chemicals in the water. It could be worth a try using distilled water for a while to see if that helps. If there is a build up of salts in the pots you can water them heavily (distilled water) and let them completely drain to leech out the salts.

Ah I grew up with a huge ice-cream bean tree in our garden. I miss them! They really are delicious and amazing. So fluffy and sweet inside. Like a plant version of white fairy floss. Thank you for planting that one in here Quercus.

Thanks for starting this thread Kanga. I've been in my real garden all day, and am feeling peaceful. I love my little garden, but if I could add to our community's virtual one, I think I would add jasmine and rose geranium. These are two of my favourite fragrances. ❤️
