Hi everyone, This section of the Beyond Blue Forums is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking at the discussions. Elsewhere on the Forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from heavier topics, we will relocate any discussions about heavier topics to a more suitable section of the Forums. Happy posting! Beyond Blue

Yes, I confess, besides being a golfer, I’m also a cricket tragic. I blame my Dad for this, always having the radio broadcast on when I was a child - I used to think how boring is this (those were Test Matches back in the day). Then I discovered that Women’s Cricket existed, and started playing, then I got hooked. I watched during those awful times when we got smashed by everyone, in particular the West Indies and their fearsome quicks. I rejoiced when Alan Border put a bit of backbone into the Aussies. Then we went on a bit of a golden run, with some fabulous players. Now, here we are in 2017, women are being paid well to play, and our Male teams are an ā€œinterestingā€ collection of characters. Have it away with your thoughts and comments, if the spirit moves you cheers M Anyway, with The Ashes series underway, I wondered if there was anyone else who shared an interest First Test at the Gabba, looks like the Aussies are going to smash it, thanks to yet another creative Steve Smith innings. Mind you, bit disappointed in the pitch that was presented

Starwolf/ROCK To our dear loved & highly respected & appreciated Community Champion, so true to the words. Starwolfs health has had a turn for the worst, she mentioned this and her last post ? Oct 17th, in my thread said she was watching but didn't have the oomph to post much anymore. Peps said she felt an omnipresence. I hope so. Star you were the first person on my surviving thread & not only did you offer solid support, wisdom and great conversation, (ROCK) we also got to know eachother and I consider you a friend and love and appreciate you more than you'll ever know. You never left my side. I was always so happy to see you Your way of speaking, your life that you worked through and got the demons at bay, you're a true survivor, an inspiration to so many. You've taught me so much Rock, I am eternally grateful that we met and haven't stopped thinking about you. I soo hope you're recovering and that you're able to come back you good good lady. Star, whenever I use ā€œITā€ talking about the beast it's qouted because we see depression as a separate and you referred to it as that. ā€œITā€ People often talk about you and Happy belated birthday friend. You're truly a STAR & Champion, I miss you terribly, like you wouldn't believe. it hurts hard. (Crying) Please be ok Rock You're missed by many & spoken about often affectionately Thankyou for your friendship and teachings. Always in my heart, (As Peps said; carry you in my heart) Love your eternal friend. Respect DB ((( xxx ))) Peps (Peppermintbach) saw this & posted it in surviving because this reminded her of you I am wolf. Quietly I will endure. Silently I will suffer. Patiently I will wait. For I am a warrior. And I will survive. - unknown

To my fellow BB Forum regulars... Though it is not a frequent event, it does happen from time to time. One of us are deeply moved by another's insightfullness, sincerity, caring, and general selfless nature. Often it is okay to make mention of them directly on the thread where it happened, and sometimes doing so may seem a bit off topic... and therefore inappropriate to do so in that instance. I think it is very important that we pay heed to those who have made a profound and lasting impression upon us. As in doing so, we help each other rise our heads above the doom and gloom of our problems, and for a moment in time, feel happy about ourselves once again. So I am starting this thread where we can give each other a pat on the back for a job well done. And I start this day with a BIG thank you to my friend Paul (a.k.a. BlondGuy) for his comments on the "We all of talk of racisim..." thread. You have really made me feel like a welcome member of this community. Anthony
